Oh, you’re saying that it destroys them currently, but you wish the lava wouldn’t destroy them in the first place?
I’ve never seen Petro under lava. I’m confused about what your issue is with this? Do you currently have any issues finding Petro? Then why would changing the rock type that it forms change that? The mechanics of it wouldn’t change. Just the block type it creates when they meet. I’m genuinely just not understanding what you’re trying to get at as being an issue

What if the mass stone generator becomes the primary source of meta stones for marble makers? Would that be against the spirit of the game? Seems viable/convenient to avoid finding a black rock farm, avoid doing crafting table mass crafts.
I can only hope for that, I don’t see the problem with that being the primary source of stone. You don’t get the Rock -> Stone XP so I see it as a good trade
You’re still going to have to go to a black meta planet to build it, and tbh it’s going to take a lot longer to harvest thousands of blocks 6 at a time then to harvest a bunch of rock and mass craft 18 to 50.
Some might prefer the mindless grind but it’s still likely to be more clicking and more time on task.

thats true no xp rock to stone crafting and no xp for mining, and its not really fast , if you go minig you are much faster getting the amount of rocks you need to have it crafted to stones.
its a nice idea but not really good for getting a massive amount of rocks in a short time…
I agree, AoE mining rock and then crafting it is very easy, just annoying when you want enough for a mass craft of something and you gotta wait for the craft to be done (or you forget where the crafting table is and you gotta make another one). This way you can get 24 at a time with just a spanner
Firstly I’ll bring up that you can repair anyone’s coils without permissions. I just went and used someone’s test build of a stone generator. This opens up public farming. So you do not have to set up your own.
I repaired someone’s coils for a few seconds to max health and waited for the next ~50 seconds for the durability on the coils to run out. I got about 300 stones in a minute. If you have 10-15 generators to repair in turn, I think you can get something like 3000-4500 stones in a minute depending how good your spanners are. With 1 machine this is like 100 rocks and 20 mass crafts per minute, with 10 machines this is like 1000 rocks and 200 mass crafts per minute.
The rocks/time are not impressive. The mass crafts you avoid doing are impressive. Instant stone, no crafting time, a rate that is similar to clicking that mass-craft button 3 times a second (like having 200 APM starcraft-style) except you’re just holding down your spanner on a machine and moving onto the next whenever you feel like it.

Yes I haven’t watched the video in some time, I forgot that the coils breaking the stones is the point of the setup.
