We used to be able to craft bags of snowballs whenever. At some point that ability was limited to the Oortmas event. Why? I can’t even make them on my creative world now, which is why I’m writing this post.
I made an arcade game on creative a couple years ago that uses snowballs. It’s a simple, fun, positive addition to the game that is rendered useless without them. I just put a set of the ‘machines’ in a new build on creative and found out I can’t do it. They can’t be stockpiled on creative like on survival worlds so people would need to put them in their inventories during the event and keep them there permanently. Silly.
It’s not like they’re event drops. We don’t gain anything from them otherwise. I’m sure people would like to be able to make them before the event starts as well. Flip that switch and allow us to craft them whenever we want.
I understand that sentiment in general for event items but since snowball fights are technically their only use, the fun is still exclusive to the event. Plus I have hundreds on my survival world and might make thousands this year so I’ll never run out anyway.
The trouble is on my creative world that’s designed for making/playing minigames with the limited interactive items we have. They were nice in that they’d last a few seconds before vanishing. Most of my games involve bombs so it’s also nice to have snowballs with their own properties as an option.
If we had other interactive items to play our own social games with, this wouldn’t be an issue.
All other event items are available on creative, which I appreciate and have been using in my stadium build. Maybe snowballs could at least be available there due to the limitations of creative inventories?
I have to agree Dutch, It is not like you can take Items from the Creative planets to anything other then a Creative planet. You also cannot take the ones made in regular planets to creative planets. @Tiggs you know that right? That if available on creative planets they cannot be brought back to a normal planet like a home world. I know you have limited in game time and may not be aware of this.
Yeah I have a reclaim just for snowballs lol Gleamchest upon gleamchest full. I’m totally in agreement with you on Creative Worlds being able to craft Snowballs. Its Creative where you should be able to craft EVERYTHING in game.
