I fear that having furniture give buffs related to gathering and combat would make people start dropping chairs and tables around the world. Maybe a beacon-only buff? But I still don’t like the idea.
Imho, decorative props (at least tables, chairs and similar things) should be just that: decorative.
However, I really like the idea to use the bed (or bath) to slowly decrease the death penalty. It’s neat, it’s flavorful, and adds a reason to make a pause. Also would fundamentally solve the current death penalty issues. Love it.
I will agree having chairs dropped all over the planets is probably undesirable. I would support a beacon only buff for all functional furniture.
What if “Parks” were made as a place for everyone to regain and buff?
I’m liking a lot of these ideas outside of the chair, bed, and tables. As far as the crafting level, I think it would be better to have lower tier versions so the solo player living out in the middle of nowhere can build some basic things while still having high tier versions for people that want to specialize. To combat wilderness furniture, I agree a beacon only solution would be ideal.
comunity build shrines that buff
I want a computer desk with like a bunch of screens on it
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.

Edit.
LoL auto censor.
I said b@lls.
Double edit.
I just realized this was about furniture and not props. Ignore thus useless post of mine.
It’s bothering me that I can keep a bucket of milk or various chunks of meat and animal parts on a shelf for weeks at a time and there is no ill effect.
I think a functional refrigerator storage block is a good idea. Needs ice or glacier for ‘fuel’.
Then introduce decay for the bio-bits.
Another piece of functional furniture to build would be a tele-console. You can use it to check on the planetary bulletin board, handy for searching the store listings for that bundle of fibrous leafs you need to churn out another batch of porridge. Also, lets you post that rotting smartstack of spitter eyeballs for sale before it goes off because you haven’t crafted enough refrigerator storage blocks.
The time requirements of some of these might be brought down just a liiiittle but, but the idea of a time requirement is interesting because it might give people an excuse to hang out and socialize for a bit while the item takes effect. You’d just need to balance the time spent and the reward given, to convince people to sit still for a few minutes, but the idea is sound.
Could picture lots of people sitting down together at a restaurant, sleeping in a hostel, etc.
i have a props sugestion post it there
