I always have lotsa ideas, boundless is the only game that can have em,
Any way, idea #1 that live stock gives you stuff overtime like XP or money or resources, and to make an animal yours youâd need to rope em and stick em on a post. (animal ropes should be mediocrely rare) this entire idea is to make keeping livestock a valuable and useful strategy. Also you could trade animals like an item because in trading there will be another tab for owned animals. (They just become the owner of it, they still have to retrieve it) Roping would be like a held item you cant dig or change items you can only release them by holding the use button.
Roping wouldnât necessarily have to exist. Some way of nudging livestock would be cool, then having the ability to âclaimâ livestock so others canât kill them would be nice. That way I could just raise them in a pen in peace.
Roping would just be a way to keep em still outside of pens (like in that Oort Online bazaar image on the older website)
You can have both. I also believe keeping the outside the pens isnât ârealistic enoughâ. I think you can have both, just make roping more expensive (rope crafting materials/chance). I think the livestock should be able to act autonomously and that players should have very minimal control over them. Ropes could be limited to horses or whatever mount there may be.
Yeah! I wonder what a good animal collection method is thenâŚ
You could lure them with specific foods, or hit them into pens. Or leave a food on the ground inside a pen, this could be explored and very cool.
Depends of the region you are dwelling ingame. Province of Borrowmore simply uses, grab 'n run technique for veggies. Which again can be used to lure vegan aminals out of their pens.
to make it easier for the developers then adding a rope, why not just make a token when taming an animal. If you have the token in your inventory the animal follows you, you can but it into a box in the pen or (and now to the cool feature) you can put it into a shopping plith so that others can buy it and then automaticaly get the controll over the pet. Of cause they can also be traded directly.
So for creating those tokens you could first craft a âbasicâ one which is then used and transformed if you successfuly tame a pet (or may be lost when it fails).
Other ideas?
Iâm not sure if this is what you expect.
Would be a massive amount of work to translate this into the different view ports in order to make a 3d model out of it. I made ca. 10 versions of this and this is the best by far
this thing is too cute, i would like to do a 3d model of it if I had the diferent views of it
Your animal suggestion in some kind is mentioned here:
I can only try and translate it into a detailed version of the 3 viewports. Right now it is an elaborated sketch but I see that itâs very rough and abstract. Iâm going to work on it
