While i see all the new blocks wich is cool and all,but could it be possible to add
Log type of block in the game?

I see many cool metal and other deco blocks but i would say wood type blocks are a bit lacking
As it comes to basic building.

Refined wood example is too much detailed to make a wall (i mean compare this to refined rock its more plain)

Its great to have multiple deco options , but at least i feel i always am forced to use the same wooden blocks for building as same time there is multiple choices for rock/ stone example

Rock,stone,refined… even deco rock is viable building mat as i see it
. Then there is also Bricks

So maybe add Log option to wood like stone has brick?

How are logs different from trunks? If I search google images for logs, they look the same :thinking:

A trunk is the main part of tree.
It is also the thickest part of the tree.
Branches come off the trunk.

A log is a thick section of wood not attached to a tree. Those are usually shaped like a tube.

I guess tube here is the key word

If you have ever seen log houses you know what i mean.

But how would the log block look different from the trunk block? My imagination isn’t good enough, to me they look the same :smiley:

Alright, I guess they’d have to be a mesh then :thinking: Would make some interesting design possible though! Yes please :3

The presentation wasn’t the problem, I just didn’t realise it’s about the shape, not the texture. This conversation clears it up too :slight_smile:

A hollow log, like one that’s fallen from a tree or used to be a tree trunk and has rotted leaving the outer tube… I built a big one of these in my dome but I wasn’t happy with it haha.

Would love to have some round trunk blocks!

I’d absolutely love it if we could have craftable ‘tree stumps’ in different sizes. Say 1blockx1block, 2x2 and 3x3 versions. And the 3x3 would have some foliage or plants around it in your crafted colour

I am not sure about logs, but I totally agree that more options wood related would be great.

The more Boundless can get away from perfectly square blocks, the more it will stand out vs other voxel games.

I think one way it stands out more, is mainly the Beacon and Settlement system. Wish there was a good way to improve on what they do and such.

Maybe some polished planks too?

Like marble but with wood.
