LoS timer on mobs/monsters

I said similar to this the other day

Mobs and walls (mobs detecting player through walls)

Can something be done with mobs not loosing sight of you please? If I go inside a house/cave/behind a wall, surely mobs that simply can never reach you, should maybe stalk you for 5-10 sec (or something) then kinda give up and carry on their normal random wanderings?

Glad it’s being looked at! Hoppers exploding outside my wall and killing me inside, is a bugbear I dislike very much
