I have seen threads on both sides of the fence on luck’s effect on mining. Is there any solid info on the need for it?
Yes Max luck when mining, gathering and hunting. As for topics with stats

Max luck is 9. Change it to 0 and you will see a big difference.

I am greedy for points and am trying to find things I can cull out but that’s sure not one of them

The main thing I leave off my miner is grapple points. I never put them on miners or gatherer’s.

Interesting. Do you find it not useful even on exos and higher tier planets? That current exo is one big hole after hole? I’m happy to give it up, don’t get me wrong
Having a nice forged grapple will make up for the lack of points put into grappling. Emerald,Ruby and topaz grapples are very nice. Diamond grapples are good also. You can usually get them forged with distance rather cheaply.

Ah true, I hadn’t considered that. Why use points when you can forge it or cook it
