Meteor Spawn Question

Hello, got a question about Meteors and i know there are alrdy hundreds of threads to it, but tbh i aint got time to watch them all.

I heard Meteors spawn due to player population and by walking into new areas of the planet.

Question is:

Do they trigger wherever I walk into new area? like does it matter if i am on the surface or can i be like deep down under water / in the earth or high above the sky?

Or do i have to be on the natural surface of the planet to trigger them?

I hear them hit above me when mining down around Altitude 10-20.

Meteors hit all the time while I mine. Not sure how the code works, but if I’m playing off-peak and harvesting plants on T3 planets, clearing meteors as I go I end up with tons of meteors.

Maybe new meteors drop as old meteors are cleared? Maybe meteors require a player to spawn them?

I’ve been nearly hit by a 2nd meteor while completing the first one before.

LOL same here, my son and I were traveling heading to a portal and heard the sound of a meteor and looked up, it landed real close and I mean real, real close. We had full inventories, it was a level three so we ran for our lives. Still got chased and I died twice, he once trying to keep me from dying. Lost the meteor.
Anyhow, don’t know about players triggering them, but we have heard them while mining and we have gone to bedrock. Was able to get some loot from a couple with no mobs around.

it happens… :frowning:
