Meteorite Rules?

So I just spent 40 minutes wandering aimlessly on Boori and only had a single meteorite spawn, and it was level three so I couldn’t even deal with it.

Usually i have meteorites spawn every few minutes of both level 1 and 2 and with a decently short time in between the spawns.

This is incredibly frustrating since now I’m basically letting my portal die out of anger but this got me thinking, are there hidden rules to how meteorites spawn that I don’t know about? I remember reading that one has to enter a new region but that didn’t work this time around.

Do the regions have some sort of individual delay in which they won’t spawn meteorites for a player? Like a specific region will only spawn 1 a day or something?

Is there some sort of hidden cap or soft limit to the amount of meteorites an individual player can challenge within a given time frame?

Or is it maybe tied to the planet itself and how many meteorites have been spawned/left undone/abandoned in a set period of time?

Or did I just get absolutely boned into submission by RNGesus and have to suffer thru his wrath time and time again?

There is a cool down on each region, If other players have been in that region recently it is most likely still on cool down.

This might be part of the problem. I think you have to enter the center of the region to the point the text on the compass no longer says „North/South/East/West of [Region name]“ for it to try to spawn them in.

Your looking for the text to say this

Not This

Therefore if you are wandering aimlessly. It may be possible you are not entering the center of the region

I am not 100% sure about this, but based off of how I see public hunt leaders move the group around. I think this is the case

thanks man, very informative, i will keep these things in mind

@Trundamere’s got your back :wink:

and it also has to do with the gleambow event. looooots more people are running around trying to trigger them and starting/resetting the cooldown timer all the while.
once the event is over things should go back to normal and portals can be persistent again :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve been exploring circapous I for the first time while gleambowing and more often than not, as soon as I recieved notification that I had 'discovered ’ a new region a gleambow would appear. Also probably helped that this level 4 planet wasn’t as popular as some level 3s.

yeah, but i had thought about this before and realized that if it always had to be a “new” region to the PLAYER , it could become very difficult to find meteorites very quickly. I’m glad that one of my thought processes was confirmed and that it wasn’t just random chance, though I am still pretty sure that had at least a small part to play in this whole thing.

I keep finding them on Bittula even though it’s a pretty popular place. I do run from region to region like others have stated as well. I heard once there was about a four hour cooldown on each region from when you enter it.

Even the gleambow meteors are giving me some good oort and metals. If you’d like to do some meteors together tonight on Bittula, I’d be up for it. Our luck may be better together.

also https://www.boundless-maps.com/ has a “show regions” button top right to help with the grid spaces and region locations. You can tell what the biomes are from the map to find easier terrain to use.
