Perhaps I jumped to a conclusion then.
My advice still stands though, stop selling those titanium hammers, and get yourself to a T6, you’ll have more titanium then you know what to do with.

We’ve talked about that issue enough over so many threads now I’ve said everything I want to say.
Patch 200 buffs the damage for gold hammers so re-review then.
haha, I know I should use them rather than sitting there looking at them.
I will try them out over the weekend and see if the results change
when u start mixing all ur titanium to alloy u always need copper and iron. Many people build with iron and it is used in many recipes as “basic metal” its good that. Also why the ■■■■ are u complaining about ur titanium gain on a silver and gold haul? u know that titanium is more common under areas of high elevation, while silver and gold is found under low elevation and sand (which practicly doesnt have terrain of very high elevation)
Plus u might maybe compelled to try lvl 5 for titanium. Comparing my experiences with titanium on my gem hauls with urs on lvl 4… im really swimming in titanium… dont have enough gold and silver to mix my alloys
Topaz and Saphire can be found there too. Also, Emerald Amyth Ruby forms low.
I mine gems using an iron hammer. I find gems. It’s a little difficult, but then, shouldn’t it be? Or, are we meant to fly through the content in a few weeks/months?
If bomb mining hadn’t been a thing, you wouldn’t even miss it to begin with. That’s the crux of your post.
I go to gem hot spots, dig straight down, then work the sides, also paying attention to the “personality” of the planet.
I enjoy the grind, and appreciate the gems all the more when I find them. It’s quite gratifying to find them after putting in the effort. I tend to feel this way about all “chores” in voxel games. I think the effort needed adds mass value to everything. Past great MMOs have always had a long grind, that’s the point; and a lot of folks enjoy that. UO is a fine example (or many MMOs, really). The grind IS fun for those who enjoy that game type. I never play creative mode on games like this either. I love digging/mining.
I feel like a lot of folks (not YOU in particular), are expecting the wrong things in a game that may not be for them. Much like how I don’t enjoy sports games, and that’s on me, not the game.
So yeah, the gem grind is real, but it should be, and every coil you make will hold special value. One could also buy gems if digging isn’t their thing.
Also, find the best gem spot you can. Constantly farm those gems. Trade them for other gems. Don’t mine the other gems.
Or use the changing chisel, I tired for hours to mine for rubies, until eventually I just got diamonds instead and transmuted them.
Lol I always just trade. Traded 160 Emerald for 160 Rubies last night. (Raw)
Thank you.
I didn’t know that, actually, regarding the silver/gold vs Titanium locations. Isn’t that a little odd, though, since you need other alloy bars to make titanium alloy?
Prob tries to be realistic. As most non-mad made gold (if not all) has fallen from the sky. (Not produced in our core).
That was my point though
I wasn’t looking to get titanium on a gold/silver session - my point was exactly what you said.
On a lvl 4 planet gold/silver mining session of 4 hours I got less gold than my lvl 5 titanium session which hauled 22 titanium.
I was highlighting the balance of resources was nonsense as a progression should be copper > iron and then we move to silver and gold [we’ll not discuss that silver and gold tools are not even worth crafting at the moment] but silver and gold is a struggle as well.
My point was it’s all out of whack with regards to progression and resource gathering - it makes no sense.
I honestly feel, Iron is too OP and Silver + Gold needs a buff.
If we are trying to be realistic, there shouldn’t be gold/silver tools at all, and the next progression would be Iron+Coal = Steel.
Well, they should be rarer, but I agree they do seem exceptionally sparse occasionally.
Usually I’ve found I get them when I’m not looking for them, so I go gem mining for different gems and end up with a haul of something else.
I once went to go get a gem of some kind, and ended up with something silly like 800 titanium.
The whole resource distribution, not just ores need a bit of work.
Like, why on earth does everything need shimmering orbs? Like, food, glue and forge ingredients all use the stuff. Meanwhile shadow orbs are used like, hardly at all and Vital orbs are used in 1 thing alone.
Ok i couldn’t look for titanium in atlas cause i smelted all mine so i popped diamond in serp atlas, ported in and went to nearest hotspot with iron hammer and shovel. Dug down to 16 depth and used that single hammer. It lasted 12mins. Have max mining stats and luck.
Spoils > 14 diamonds-4 silver-26 gold-12 soft coal-58 med coal-44 hard coal.
Went home and sold to baskets in closest city. 12k gold coins.
So make of that what you will.
Also got death penaltied while checking the bloody forum ):
Silver and Gold, should be used in electronics.
and im just saying that u might wanna check ur location before u dig
22 titanium u get from one larger vein of titanium seams. i dont know what u did on your titanium haul but it was certainly just plain wrong. on a place where titanium is prevalent its highly likely that u hit at least one vein when u plainly dig straight down to the core and this is a 2 minutes act, not a matter of hours
Oh, yeah. I wouldn’t hate it if a larger rebalance made silver/gold used in more machine crafting and was removed from tools. You could maybe justify it’s current rarity in that case, too. That’s a fairly large departure from where we are, though, so I’ll stick with hoping for large buffs to those tools and some resource use/spawn rate redistribution.
