Polls are closed.

It looks like Kovah won for both city and planet. That being the case and the fact the devs already named the planet Kovah. That is what the planet’s name is going to be.

For the city name, Kovah won with a three way tie for second between a variation of Hub, a variation Nexus, and Tantian.

The next poll won’t be for another 24 hours so everyone has a chance to put there opinions in.

There are a few topics of discussion.

  1. Should the city also be called Kovah?
  2. Why you like Hub, and which variation is the best?
  3. Why you like Nexus, and which variation is the best?
  4. Why you like Tantian?

The docket for the next poll will have,

  • Hub
  • Hubb
  • Huub
  • Nexus
  • Nexxis
  • Nexsys
  • Tantian

If any other variations come up during this discussion they maybe added to the docket. However, no completely new names or names that did not get enough votes, will be added.

I would rather only have the world be called as both having the same name would be not only confusing but also kinda boring.

I like Tantien, Nexus adn Hub because of the meaning they have, a center, a core a nave to the worlds.

Though i like Tantien best becasue of the originality and and how it sound followed by Hub and then Nexus.

My favorite variation of Hub is Huub as it is similar to Oort and i find the pronounciation funny.

My favorite variation of Nexus is Nexsys as i like the idea of calling the the city Center and system in the same word.

‘‘Come meet me at Kovah’’ ‘‘Where on Kovah?’’ ‘‘No i mean the city’’

‘‘Man i just found a Titan on Kovah!’’ ‘‘THERE IS A TITAN IN THE CITY’’ ‘‘No. The world, not the city.’’ etc…

But most capital cities use this system and there is not much confusion
New York state - New York city
Berlin Bundesland - Berlin Stadt
same for Vienna
Bern Kanton - Bern city
London - London (not sure on that one)
etc…

No, its the same as calling the capital cities of earth for ‘‘earth’’

but it is very much a matter of opinion again, we just need a poll since names are a rather subjective matter.

New York is a good counter point, actually :slight_smile: People tend to assume that when someone says they’re from New York, they mean the city (even though it’s often not the case). It gets confusing pretty quickly

(hence the whole “New York, New York” trope)

Being that the city is the main point of the planet I can see why having it have the same name would make sense.

If that is what people want then vote for Kovah to be the name.

I would like to hear more of why people might want Hub, Nexus, and or Tantian.

My personal favorite is Tantian I think it is orgional and I like the meaning. It is still the core but not just of the body but the spiritual core as well. It seems to fit Oort to me.

The only down side is I don’t think it will be immediately apparent to new players that this is a capital as it is not a well known name.

It seem you can name your beacons/plots/cities, so i just imagine as soon as you enter the city it will say ‘‘Tantien’’ in the middle of the screen for a few sec so people can learn the name. because if it doesnt then nobody will know the name of any city.

it is something i considered making a post about though, if we SHOULD allow people to see the name of towns and worlds when we go to them, not doing so might be a pain in terms of convenience but it adds a cool element of immersion and exploration if you have to find a ruin or so that tells the name of the world.

The name of the city will be Tantien

But don’t despair those that voted for Nexsys, I believe that is what we are going to call our Guild hall/Palace/Senate/Portal Hub.
