Need more things to do with coin

Once you have a couple stacks of AoE hammers and forged slingbows, you kinda run out of things to spend money on if you refuse to buy Oort or Exo Gleam. Guild buffs are nice, but there are so many generous people out there you can probably get in on these just by asking nicely, although you should help a little.

Maybe we need single person buffs or temporary skills/abilities bought with coin?
Maybe we could bottle up coin and turn it into experience?
Maybe there could be cool new blocks or tools that you create with coins?
Maybe fuel portals with coin as an oort alternative?

Not as a solution in search of a problem, mind you, but as new and interesting game dynamics.

It’s a good idea :+1:

I think buying existing gathered resources from system is not good, it would just turn game even more into shared single player.

Maybe something like buffing or boosting skills, items, forge, skip crafting times with coins could be interesting.

I think game shouldn’t be too demanding with coins. Coin play part in game but I like how I kind of use and see it now: skip work that is done by other players.

Donations are always welcome for the “molav is poor fund”. If you find you have excess coin and want to use it but can’t think of what to do with it.
Think “molav”

Any community members needing to off load coin, please reach out. I could find a way to use it

I’m in a weird spot where I just don’t have any goals right now. My base is built, I’m well stocked, I tinker around with a build or two here and there but other than that I don’t really need or want anything  it’s a happy place but I’d like to have more to do. I’d really love to be able to advance my character farther but that’s another thread entirely.

Honestly, I’m not fond of the idea to have to spend coin on more stuff.
Like, when you’re loaded with coins, sure, you might think “I don’t know what to do with all of that cash!”.
But when you’re dirt poor, the last thing you want is having to spend MORE coin on stuff. ^^

Yeah I’d be sad if stupid ■■■■ suddenly had a coin requirement for no reason whatsoever. I would only want to see it add fun things to do, not become more of a grind.

Maybe a way to convert coins into cubits? Reward the players who actually have enough coins, meaning players who already invest enough energy into the game as it is.

I mean, World of Warcraft allows you to buy tokens to pay for your monthly sub with gold coins. It’s not so far-fetched as one might think. And those tokens are sold by players on the auction house who bought them first with real-life money.

Something similar could be done.
You buy a [pack of cubits] item with cubits that you can sell for coins in a shop-stand.

People lose it when games offer items for real money though :frowning: too many game companies like EA exploited microtransactions to death.

On one side, yeah, you can take it like that.
In the case of the WoW Token thing, overall, people took it very well, because sure, you technically buy gold with real-money, but it has to go through the player-economy first, which changes the result completely.

So here, depending on how you look at it, you’d be able to say “people buy their Gleam Club with coins instead of cubits”. Someone does buy it with cubits at one point, but like, those who can afford it. Those who can’t would be able to. Know what I mean?
