The devs and a lot of people in the community agree that buying Plots for Cubits isn’t P2W. You aren’t getting any clear advantage from it. That’s the general consensus about it. Purchasing coin for cubits/real cash is directly P2W in the minds of pretty much everyone in the community and the developers.
This isn’t going to change.
This game isn’t dying. There’s zero evidence of that.
People walling off resources, even tho it’s an accepted (tho a bit scummy) strategy, doesn’t change how many resources are available in the long term because, as previously stated, once a planet gets enough plots, the system automatically adds a new planet with the same tier and resource distribution.
So there’s no way even a millionaire buying plots with real money could completely monopolize even a single common resource (such as gems). I suppose there was a slight incident with red gleam in the beta servers, but even that is much more unlikely now.
Besides, it’s the easiest thing to get cubits for free, so buying 'em with real money is at best a convenience feature. Doing it the free way doesn’t even take all that much time.
Anyway, it’s not an advantage to be able to use wall plots to cover up all mineral resources. Sorry, but that’s just schizophrenic. But okay, everyone’s opinion.

Developers are okay with it. They aren’t okay with selling coin for cash.
They’ve been okay with people plotting around resource hot spots from day 1.

Hmmm I’ve sold you tons of same wood and I take trips to different places.
I lose WAY too much coin cutting 2c trunk on low level planets,. I cut pheminorum wood for my own build, I won’t sell it for 2c because there’s not a lot of it. Farming trunk for baskets generates resources like, per 1000 trunk, I can expect 200 - 250 sap and 90 -120 bark, at level 3.
At level 2, no bark. Bark sells 25- 30 c apiece so, if I go to specifically farm the lower level wood I can conservatively lose (25 * 90) 2,250 coins.
Considering you’re offering 2c instead of one, it’s only a roughly 1000 coin loss to fill that basket with level 1 / level 2 specific color wood.
You also can’t specify a wood with 3x - 4x the acquisition cost, and expect that woodchoppers are going to gear up, buff up, and go hang out on the surface of level 5-6 chopping trees specifically.
TBH man the number of people that are running around the malls looking for baskets to sell trunk for 1-2c that hang out on level 5 is, like, maybe none?
I mean, let me put down this hunt for 7000 coin roadrunner feathers to use a forged gem axe to cut you some trunk on alcyon for 2c bro.
I’ve also sold you wood from 8-10 planets minimum including, occasionally, your specific baskets. When you changed pretty much all baskets to specific planet farming, I dropped.
I’m a little peeved at the tone of your comments that’ the only reason I’m posting here.
I play heavy and when I’m not building I can pull 50 - 70k trunk a week. I’ll fill up your c any trunk basket with 15k trunk from mixed level three and sometimes level 4 planets in a day.
You want to have a premium shop and sell hard to find goods and you’re in here bitching and calling other people lazy because you sometimes have to source product in stead of buying it at rock bottom prices people pay for overabundant wood?
Watch who you call lazy. You can offer 10c a trunk and right now I’ll burn pheminorum lustrous into charcoal on your doorstep.
Most of the people that are going to drop trunks in a basket are the folks who got them incidentally while farming for sap/bark/exotic starberries, not because they wanted to make some coin and thought the best way to do that was selling wood to re-sellers.
Conkuur probably doesn’t even sell 50-70k/week in wood so dishing out that much coin to buy trunks would not be a sustainable market strategy.

His strategy at his shop makes sense, and if he’s happy to get that wood 10 - 20 trunk at a time I don’t know why here’s in here generally blasting out a diatribe about lazy harvesters that’s essentially off topic bashing of other players.
He clearly doesn’t understand the basic economics of the people he’s trying to attract, and he’s here insulting, effectively, me directly.
His shop is fine. I helped someone pick their materials there yesterday as they were willing to pay his prices for nice, specialty colors.
As he notes, there aren’t many heavy harvesters on line at this time. Calling them, as a group, lazy and unhelpful for not selling to him at a loss is not going to help him achieve his goals.
It’s a lovely shop, and if he wants his current baskets filled he’s going to have to wait for along time. That’s a valid strategy. If he spends that time calling people names and complaining that he occasionally has to source his own product, well, it’s not going to help.
I’ve sold you so many stacks of items Ark I have no idea how much of my shop you’ve paid for. maybe over a million coin, when you guys put up that 500k sign and started paying roughly 50c for lamella I dropped over 70k coins in those baskets on the spot. 15c is where you started on the cobalt too, right? sorry stuffed that basket with i think 3 or 4 full smart stacks of cobalt before you dropped the price.
At 20-25C I have a stack of reactive lamella sitting in my cabinet atm. I’m not making threads about greedy shop owners dropping prices, and you’re not here making threads about lazy sellers refusing to fill your baskets. There’s drift in the economy.

Well, most of them do not want to be able to buy coins for Cubits, the Devs are not supposed to, well if that’s the case, it’s a shame.
So, in my opinion, Boundless will only be a nasty grind game for people without real life, because to be successful you have to play 24/7.
And yes … I had the time, as I said, I’m in disability pension, but I’d rather spend my time getting better.
