It’s probably me just being really dense at the moment but how can I see what level each of the planets are, and I don’t mean the atmosphere protection level. I’ve tried looking at each of the planets in the planets tab but nothing there, I’ve even looked at atlases. The only thing that I can see that might give a clue is the description such as inhospitable, placid etc but there is no key /table to look up exactly what one relates to what level a planet is classed as.
Now we can only know from planet prefixes, i made this a long time ago when the atmospheric been updated.
Edit: you can see planet Tier in the debug menu but this is the code name so like what we call Tier 1, in the debug menu will be seen as Tier 0.
Ah thanks @Gorillastomp … I had a feeling that was the case but was hoping it was just me missing something that was right under my nose. It’s pity they can’t just put the information right next to the description so it’s all in plain sight.
I don’t know if you can do this, or would even what to, but when I start up the game, first I get online and bring up the Boundless Crafting and open up worlds.
Then start Steam. That way, if I have questions about a planet, I can just click on the computer and bring it up and depending on where I am at I put her first in the sanctum.
then I can bring up the planet I am on or want to go to and see there all the info, what level, what it looks like, what I can find on it, and a lot more.
Don’t know if that help though.
I think I might have to try that … it’s a pity we have to rely on player made resources/data bases/information etc just to find basic information though…thanks for the suggestion @Janna55
Thank you @karakavra, that will be very useful
and here you will find, the specifications of each planet, which contains, type of earth, foliage, plants and colors, the very complete truthttp://boundlesscrafting.com/worlds
Soon to be updated with even more information
Thank you once again @karakavra, I’ve downloaded them for future reference and I do need to revisit @Stretchious fantastic data base website, I haven’t used it since early access.
Because half my alts have all the atmosphere protections I’ve not really needed to know what level the plants are as I generally avoid spitters and cuttletrunks anyway it’s only because with this new farming update I thought I’d look for some exotic earthyam bulbs which in the knowledge tab says they can always be found on level 4 planets… which I found after 3 hours of looking on the one planet that is supposed to have to not be the case… found every other seed type except the one I was actually looking for. Hopefully in a few weeks the hardcore players will have enough for their needs so “casuals” such as myself can eventually find a few
Well, that’s a little ingenuous because the put everything right in the description. The level of an ‘inhospitable’ World is ‘inhospitable’, it doesn’t get more explicit than that.
Of course, what isn’t explicit is the value of the internal variable they use to track the type of world, which is often bandied about in public forums like this instead of the longer, more difficult to type name. This is for two reasons: (a) the name is longer and more difficult to type, and (2) even the in-game descriptions get lazy and use the internal variable value (inconsistently referred to as ‘tier’ or ‘level’). Finally, (d) the internal variable values imply a useful strict weak sort ordering, the descriptions not so much.
Anyway, this information is also handily available on the wiki as well. It’s where I go for my information for reasons, and it tends to be more up-to-date these days.
Without using an external source of information how would a new player know that the description in the knowledge tab, which says that exotic earthyam bulbs are on level 4 planets is a inhospitable planet? How is that explicit?
you have to understand that if you give it all, you will soon stop playing, I think they will try hard to make the game difficult, but many, once they have achieved everything and fill their pockets with elbows, they will finally get bored and leave the game, not all , since many of us love this game and neither trolls, nor bad updates, nor the lack of a manual will ever get us out of here, before the game is over for the lovers of this one to vanish, but not all of us have the same thought and masses think differently, this game is slow and requires a lot of patience
I think this is not consistent with other planet information in UI. I mean knowledge is referencing to planet levels as numbers instead of prefixes. I think only way to know planet level numbers in game are done by players (debug is not viable way to pull information for all players).
Numbers are much easier to understand than given names so luckily player made portal hubs use numbers. I like that game tries to hide that tier numbering, but I think it should be available somewhere when it is used. For example when hovering or clicking to planet numbers in knowledge it could show listing.
Yeah I’ve been playing this game exclusively since 2017 and enjoy the complexity but I think having a consistent labelling system in terms of tier/level/description etc for planets wouldn’t hurt.
Hello kind sir, is there an updated version? I don’t see Kocadi on there?
Kocadi is a sovereign world, and including all sovereigns in a map would be a large undertaking, not to mention that they can expire if the owner doesn’t renew them.
For a more recent (but not current) Portal Seekers map, you can go here: http://www.portal-seekers.com/#maps but it doesn’t have sovereigns.
All of that said, you can use one of these tools to search for worlds and see their level, etc. Each has different benefits and drawbacks.

This one attempts to link you to the forum post for it, if it exists, which can help you find a portal:
