one thing we should also consider is will the beacon owner still need to visit the beacon to prevent footfall decay or could the character with permissions renew the timer
I also rather dislike the fact that with the latest update other characters can not see if there’s even footfall in there.
Several times a day I checked my 2 main beacons to see how the ff was going, now I can only do that of my main char since my merchant alt doesn’t log in all that often…
Yea so it would affect a person taking an extended break from the game and leaving a friend with permissions to collect footfall but probably not an active player that just wants to collect with an alt
In the scenario you describe, a player taking a break, it would actually not affect them at all, they would see no benefit, but would not be a deficit either.
What I’m proposing would just be making it simpler for players with alts to collect coin from all their account beacons.
I almost didn’t add the third option of allowing any citizen to get permission, but added just so the devs had more information to work with!
That’s already a relevant question with the new option to allow a guild to collect footfall of a controlled beacon, that was added today.
Do all guild members refresh the activity timer when this option is checked?
Or just those with coin permissions?
Or just the original owner of the beacon?
If you have aligned your beacon and allowed it to be controlled by the the guild there is now an extra setting at the beacon to allow the guild to collect the coin. Assume this means we can collect all beacons from guild book… if someone tries before I get a chance be sure to let us know here
Someone with a sufficient guild rank still has to walk to the beacon and click the collect coin button, but it is directly send to the guild coin balance instead of the characters personal coins.
No. We need to be making it harder to do stuff with alts, not easier. Making it easier to use alts further solidifies their advantage over solo characters which greatly undermines other areas of the game.
With that said, if the devs move footfall to be more guild-oriented than player-oriented it would make a lot of sense for alts to be treated like any other character who can collect footfall from the settlement. As long as alts are taking up guild slots I think it’s fair to consider alts equal to any other character that would have taken up that slot. (For the purposes of guild-related actions.)
