Glass panes used as a ceiling are useless against the super snow… shop has a fully covered glass pane ceiling with no holes yet every shop stand is basically useless to see what color the item is without turning builder mode on to hide the snow…
And I haven’t found the will the farm for more red candy canes yet because I’m still depressed by the quantity required. I’d have to go on 2 more group-snowball-hunts sessions to get enough to make one mass craft.
Between that and the Super snow, kinda want to hibernate for the next 4 days.
Ok i run around in build mode most of the time anyway. But i have to say snow and rain can be stopped with a full block or two “half slaps” making a full block (basically two blocks back to back chiseled on the outsides).
It seems when 1 block is chiseled to much it becomes “invisible” or in other words for the weather effects a air block.
There’s no snow to be found on any surface inside, but the wind blows the snow through my workshop as if I left all the windows open!
Even on a ‘farm’ I finally finished today, metal doors, a portal and the rest are unchiseled full blocks, bricks and the old glass fully enclosed and I still see snow blowing thru the building…
Ok still like i said i am mostly walking around with plot info on. but when it happens to snow i only see the effect in central Anterra because of the windows on top of central (they are holey ).
Easy, inside is under a layer of block that is not sky. Have one block above on the (x,y,z) everything below that block (all alt below a solid block = inside).
fun fact my skyshield worked on the old Houchus base, it was only one block layer on a much higher alt than the ground, no snow no rain nothing on the ground layer (around 50 blocks below). Still a bit of fog and drips if I remember correctly.
I’ll cut to the answer - determining that a player or location is inside is a computationally expensive operation. It’s also heuristically limited. Maybe something best solved with machine learning. Time for a Boundless trained captcha?
