Programs/Tools for building?

Out of curiosity, is anyone using any apps, tools, websites or programs to help plan future builds?

Would you mind sharing some of those with us? Drop a link if you can.

I have gone through a LOT of grid paper over the years for this game. I’m currently out.

I found a circle generator on google that I use a lot. Xib looks a lot more advanced. Thanks for the tip.

I don’t often plan builds ahead very much at all, but when I do I either do it on paper or using MagicaVoxel, which has always felt pretty versatile to me. Can take a while to get used to some UI stuff though.

I’ll check images of minecraft builds for inspiration, then use this free interactive graph paper website to work out the how to make that idea fit my space  https://print-graph-paper.com/virtual-graph-paper

Actually I don’t even plan much ahead, I just go by the flow and sometimes work with real life images as a reference.
There are cases where I might need actual spheres or an ellipsoid where I tend to use external tools like https://www.plotz.co.uk/ (which can create 3D objects and offers a slice view - I can also avoid looking up circle spreadsheets by just using this one in its 2D view). It’s only doing the rough view tho since I tend to chisel my builds like a madman.

I haven’t used it for some time, but MagicalVoxel was standard a couple of years ago https://ephtracy.github.io/ it has great copy/paste to repeat sections and it seems to have added many features.
