PS4 Players got screwed with the last update

Hi all.

I bought the game for Ps4 the day it got to the Playstation Store, why?, because the game looked amazing on PC, this was a GREAT sandbox game, and it presented as well.

No problems there.

When the game launched it was a great experience, I met people thanks to the cross play and they had amazing builds, great shop stands and a nice perspective of what the game was; A Minecraft like game with MMORPG skill system and all very well integrated to be a FUN experience. (FUN… remember that word)

Yes it was hard to see everyone else had lots and lots of great builds, and places, and houses and what not, all the PC players had a year or more of a headstart, but it was easy to farm food, starter blocks and materials to build more specialized items… Then I found out how the portals worked and how you needed to maintain them… everything was OK so far, yes I had to grind a lot, and my first week was all about grinding to get the best possible way to either lvl up or have a decent house, (in a week there isn’t much you can do but grind) Also, as a Ps4 player, I can only play at home after work and I have like 3 to 4 hours to play boundless, and once again THAT WAS OK. I was HAVING FUN like a sandbox like game should be… I thought, “once I level up in a week more or so, I’ll go to a Tier 4 or 5 planet to gather more things and start building my own place” but no…

Things got bad yesterday, Now I need to use my “Free” time to grind and grind just to get the bare minimum of materials to make a simple GLEAM LANTERN but oh wait!!! You can only get those Materials in a T5 Planet… so now I need to lvl up and Grind for MORE mats to even have a decent Equipment, that is of course, IF I want to Craft it MYSELF, that means, I need to have 2 or 3 Characters all for different purposes… that will take me at least another month…

But WAIT, let’s say I buy all the things I need from the Stores ok?, that’s fine, you just made the Richest poeple on the game more rich (those are obviously PC players)… and the poor Ps4 Gamers who only have 2 weeks of gameplay the lowest in the economy ladder… that’s OK, PC Players are NOT in fault here… it’s the game itself the one with the problem, you are trying to build an economy system in the worst possible way, and now, not only is hard on Ps4 players, you made it Hard for EVERYONE… so we are all stuck in a game where you need at least year to have a decent amount of things to even “Build” the Empire you devs are trying to sell in the game’s description…

As far as I can tell from the forums now, is that DEVS are using the released game as a BETA… and the BETA is more stable than the released game…

Many people is saying that if you want a “Creative” game then go to Minecraft… and All I can think about is THIS IS EVEN MORE EXPENSIVE THAN MINECRAFT and look at where Minecraft is RIGHT NOW… the community is HUGE why?.. BECAUSE GAMES ARE SUPPOSED TO BE FUN. Simple as that… once you get a Grinding game it losses the purpose… at least that’s what I think…

Gleam lanterns is not a must they are nice to have yea but normal lanterns are fine^^ Some thing should be hard to get ^^

Iron slingbow if more than fine if you have the dmg epic :slight_smile: you wont need alot of alts for that^^

I know the game is hard for new players and its nice to have creative people here :slight_smile: its also okay to have items that are hard to get you dont have to have the nice blocks.

i’m not trying to lecture you or oppose just giving you my view with a smile^^

im struggeling to grasp what you mean with PC players having a headstart? yea we had the Early acces to test out stuff and help them improve on certain aspects.

But on launch it was a complete wipe so both PC and PS4 started same, and the game is a big grind thats kinda the MMORPG experience.

You can find gleam on Tier 3 planets so you dont HAVE to go to a tier 5 planet for that stuff.

Try and search a little on http://boundlesscrafting.com it has all the worlds and most of the materials the worlds have.

not true some of us did have a 14+ days headstart before launch then ps4 and pc players started the 7th

Yes but I can almost guarantee that probably no ps4 players backed this game with money when it was being born and helped get it to where it is now. This is coming from a ps4 player.

Well Im not sure what do you mean by ps4 players didn’t backed the game… I bought it the first day it was on the PSN store, so, I don’t understand what do you mean.

Of course I have, I have 4 portals in different places…

None of the PC players had portals when the game launched in August, the grind was unreal for us. You’ve benefited greatly from the shops and portal hubs havin’ been set up.

All you gotta do is mine, smelt ore, mass craft stones, refine stones, place refined stones, level up a whole bunch, get 3 points in caustic resist, then walk through a portal into a T5 world.

In 5 hours I can make 50-100k experience from mining if I find some fresh caves.

you can get gleam from as low as T2 planets…

ehh not needed just more efficient then grinding till lvl “150” to be able to use 3 skill sets but yes your mainly right either way is gonna be time consuming but its a mmo i expected that,plus i dont focus on getting to max lvl as fast as,i have alts but if thats not your thing make friends and trade with them.

while i bought the game years ago i started again on launch,ive spent around 15-20k and still have 70k left and i dont own a shop,money isnt a real huge issue unless your trying to buy constant supply of titanium tools or powercoils.

I guess the use and abuse of the bomb mining doesn’t count then? First it gave a ■■■■ ton of exp and vets on pc knew this and went to town leveling all their alts and packing resources crucial to an economy they were already aware of.

Then it got nerfed to not give exp. then once ps4 players started understanding mechanics and getting up to speed vets who were already well established because of their insider knowledge, the big bomb nerf comes.

Yea you’ll understand if I call everything you said ridiculous. And the the other person above you saying ‘pls I am not lecturing you but I’m lecturing you’.

It’s just ridiculous. This game should not be a grind. It clearly wasn’t 2 weeks ago after official release. At this point I’ve had enough with the changes and the vets acting as if new players are insane for being upset over these changes once vets have been able to gather so much and reestablish themselves under the guise of ‘well we were around for a long time and supported the game’.

Preordering is not the same as backing the game. I’m talking about the pc players that help keep the game funded by buying the game in its infant stages and basically testing the game in return for their free time for a few years to help get it into our hands now. tips hat to our veterans

Yes, you all started at the “same” time, but we had NO KNOWLEDGE of the game AT ALL, In PC even if you have a wipe, you know what to do, where to lvl up, what stat you need to get a better resutl and all, Heck We didn’t even know about the portals in the different planets until half a week later.

Im NOT saying that I can’t get Gleam at all, all I’m saying is that most of the new Items to “Craft” are into T5 planets.

You’re right, this absolutely happened, but some of us, some vets chose not to do that.

Others abused it to the max. And it’s fair to be upset, but it was broken, and they exploited the game to level up as fast as they could, and I totally get why hearin’ from them is frustratin’.

But they didn’t know it was an exploit at the time. A handful of us saw how easily it was being abused, spoke out against it, but it took the devs too long to fix it, and now they’ve doubled down on the grind for reasons we don’t get.

actually no as i was gone for 18 months,everything changed,i had to relearn everything from scratch the same as ps4 players.

when i returned i looked up jiivita vids on boundless and even joined a settlement and joined their discord channel as well as the official discord channel,if i need help its there.

I started this game on August 9th. The universe wipe was a few days later. I just went online and looked up stuff and asked questions.

But this game is an MMO, it’s a longhaul, once new players get gem tools they’ll be able to make as much money as the vets. There’s no limited-time event items like other F2P MMO’s that’s going to time-gate.

Once you get to level 50 and have end-game tools, your shops are goin’ to be able to compete.

That said, yeah, it sucks the devs let the vets abuse bomb mining as long as they did.

Metro, it’s Bunkers of you to say that we didn’t back the game… WE COULDN’T lol plain simple, how could we, since we bought the game for PS4??

Also, I don’t understand what your rant is here, I’m not saying PC players are bad or anything, all I’m saying is that we got screwed by the last update because it was already hard for PS4 player since we didn’t even had the knowledge of the game… that’s it.

Its great PC players backed the game for whatever you want, that is not the topic here…

PC player here: didn’t have a head start and Gleam Lanterns are easy as heck to make on T3 worlds…

If that’s really the case, and the devs just left it in and did not do an immediate shutdown like they did the other day with region exp discovery exploit then what is that saying here?

I don’t care at this point. My enjoyment I was finding in this game has been severely diminished with the decisions these devs seem to be making. I purchase the deluxe edition on PS4 because this game really looked like it was going to be my new jam but there are some boneheaded dev decisions being made.

Maybe they’re being too reactionary, I don’t know. They’ve already admitted, Steggs I believe, that they tried to work too fast and introduced a lot of problems in this patch. I appreciate that acknowledgement but if something doesn’t change where it ‘feels’ like ps4 players are being continually dumpsters on for not being ahead of the curve at the right time I’ll be done personally. I’ve got the gleam club from deluxe in to November so I’ll give it til then and hope that these sorts of changes or knee jerk reactions don’t continue to happen. I’m an individual who is more than happy to pay extra funds for things like more plots and gleam membership as frivolous as it is for a fun game managed well, but within the 2 weeks I’ve been here as a PS4 player, it has gotten worse and worse it has felt like.

Yes this is ranty and yes I know that. But the whole situation as a PS4 player is just annoying on a lot of different lvls. The chat UI, the gleam club or deluxe perks still not being applied to. Many gleam club perks from deluxe not being applied. There are just a lot of small things that are piling up it seems and for a few PS4 players it may hit that point where it just isn’t worthwhile any more, which is fine, there’s always a game to spend time on.

yeah i get your frustration as anyone who wasn’t already well established that was hurt more than anyone (prob had no effect on the rich and powerful other then a minor nuisance (aside from bomb mining nerf which was needed imho) but its also a bit early for the doom and gloom,as the devs will adjust things if/when needed (they do listen to the community to an extent),if the game is stressing you out take a break or play something else fun and check back from time to time (its the reason i was gone for 18 months as it was really basic back then)
