As title states: there is an option to view the update history on ps4 games, and I highly suggest you make use of this.
I’m going to show the update history of two games I own and updated recently.
That’s not all of that update. I literally held down my analog stick for a solid 4-5 seconds to view it all. They included everything, even if it was a tiny detail, and even mentioned fixing 3 exploits.
I can look at that and know what to expect and even get excited about some fixes or events.

My thoughts when I look at this? “Meh, just some minor fixes, nothing new.” This doesn’t interest me, and I just close out and find something else to do.
That game was… You guessed it! Boundless.
I will say, Boundless isn’t the only game guilty of this.
But it is very important! Many players never look at game forums for updates. This is the only game I actually do that. If they don’t see a change, they have no interest in booting it up.
A personal example is Portal Knights. They never update their history, and I knew they had lots of bugs, so when I see a 1gig update, yeah, i get curious, but then it only mentioned fixes and I just grumble about “lotta damn fixes…” and move on. Haven’t touched it in over a year.
Walk in on my daughter playing it and I immediately see changes and new things. She actually gets to teach ME about something. A rare chance I let her fully indulge in.
So, yes, because a game never updated their history, I never knew of the changes, but even after learning about it it’s just that “old-new” feeling. It’s not a recent exciting new feeling that makes me want to open it up again.
For the most part, you could just use the text-only portions of what you already include here on the forums.

Let your ps4 players know the game is active and regularly getting updates! It may even encourage more to boot up the game!
