Put a bunch of minyi’s drawings in the game as emoji

They would make fantastic wall art to decorate our houses

Wow, that would be awesome, even the ones with scribbles around explaining stuff. I’d really love that

Awesome idea!
Would love to see some of @Minyi and @jesshyland 's designs as miniature fine art in the game :+1:

Actual Minyi art on signs, that would work like paintings, that would be awesome.
But then it would have to be vectorized too, right?

Aren’t the emojis textures (and therefore bitmaps) anyway?

I presume a lot of her line art is in Illustrator anyway, it’s way easier for drawing than photoshop

The sign emojis have been remade in vector-art so they can scale infinitely.
Or wasn’t that what you were asking? I dunno.

wow. Just checked out Minyi’s design on deviantart. They are awesome.

I didn’t know this is Minyi’s

I found this:

A painting of this would be great in game

I suggest the devs could allow us to capture image in game and allow us to “paint” (paste) it on a blank canvas as well.

Yeah images like that as paintings would be lovely (Miniy’s)!

And yes, I also asked for that many a time, a screenshot mode where we can use the screenshots we take as pictures on a wall or as posters! I had envisioned a ‘travel agency’ with pictures of the permanent planets and such!

So many possibilities for ‘emoji’ like images tho! And it all had to start somewhere with the base emojis. Now the tech is in place and the devs can add more game specific ones in the future!

Can’t wait!

If they wanted to add them in with the emojis and allow people to have it in many different sizes, it may be useful to re-draw them in vector format (possibly somewhat abstract) and go from there, so that their art doesn’t get distorted. Vector files are usually fairly large, so I doubt they’d leave anything in that format unless it was totally necessary. A lower-res png file would prob look fine in-game (similar to a Minecraft painting).

I can’t speak about it from the dev-end bc I don’t know how they are adding them in or how that works. Vector graphics are usually used for things that require precision & scalability like die-cut items, signage, some maps, product labels, professional branding assets, animation, etc.

It’s not “easier”, it’s just a different tool - it depends on what you’re trying to do. (I think they use Maya too…I would be in heaven if I could fit that in my budget…big ole nope though!)

Maybe they could also release (at one point, when convenient) painting canvas and you could interact with them to chose a picture among a list of art made by the devs. Then they wouldn’t need to make vector art.

To each his own.
I work on Photoshop to do textures for 3DsMax. When you have a pen-tablet, it’s faaaaar better, too. Illustrator feels foreign to me.

If you use illustrator you can add, remove and edit control points, plus it has the smoothing tool. Useful for line art. And photoshop better for painting (sadly - I wish they’d improve painting in illustrator)

But yeah different tool different job. Now I’m curious what tools she uses for what

New update :blush::blush::blush: go enjoy and ignore this post hehe

I’m sure no one cares about this lol …buttttt…you can get as realistic & detailed with vector graphics as you want to - you can also incorporate gradients, photos, etc. It just depends on how it’s going to be used & where. Same with something created in Photoshop (which is sometimes the better tool for a specific job). These were all done in Illustrator:

Wow, that artwork is incredible!

There’s literally hundreds of minyi sketches that could be wall art emoji

Her works from her personal collection & for other projects should be respected and are hands-off imo. Neat idea, but probably enough pushing it for now

Not her personal stuff - her sketches that are for boundless (that I assume WS “owns”)
