An out of game warning that your beacon is running low, would be a lifesaver.
I had to start over with my build a little while ago, because I missed my beacons running out while I was taking a break. I was a few days too late, due to not doing the math right.
That was over 100,000 blocks I’ve had to re-place, and a lot of things I still haven’t bothered taking out of my beacon storage, since it works for a ‘storage’ for myself.
Though more or cheaper ways to fuel a local (same planet) portal would be nice as well, due to the lower levels of oort flowing around these days.
I want those changes too! It’s a pain have to constantly switch between skill pages to do things at your own home base. And even worse if you have to do it away from your home base, because you have to wait 15 minutes each time to switch pages again. I just want to spend my time playing instead of switching skill pages or characters all the time.
A buffer period where you can’t add or remove, people can’t buy/sell, would probably work with that. Beacon is out of fuel, notification is sent, then after a period of time, it gets reclaimed.
Agreed, the multiple skill pages and multiple characters are not rational with the way the game currently works. While in your base, you can switch at will so you might as well just combine them.
However I do feel there is a justification for separating skill sets/characters, I just don’t know what it is.
The one I meant is that there are recipes that call for “any alloy” but only the gold and silver ones work, the titanium doesn’t count. I have a ton of titanium alloy, but hardly any of the gold or silver right now. Was a pain in the posterior to go mine a chunk of copper/iron/gold/silver to make enough for the 150-odd glean chests I need. Bah humbug!
yeah that too you are correct many recipes do say alloy but the Titanium one won’t work for those. Still wish it was not requiring another alloy to make it though.
Something that would make blowing and farming faster… We get to have AoE for other tools… But not for farming? (Fun fast. Boundless is the only game I hate farming!)
There is nothing more annoying than traveling all the way from your home base to another planet to do something and realize…you are on the wrong skill page and you can’t change pages for 15 minutes. Whats faster? Warp home and come back? Sit here for 15 minutes twiddling your thumbs until the timer runs out and you can do what you intended to do? The worst part about it is that I don’t understand what purpose it is supposed to serve. What is improved in game by making people play on multiple skill sheets/characters to do more than one thing?
The only justification I have ever seen given for the current design is that people are not supposed to do everything themselves and are supposed to have to rely on other people for the other stuff. This doesn’t make any sense to me because A) it is boring to only ever do one thing and B) literally no one does this whether that was the intent or not. Some “professions” are just way more lucrative than others, so you cannot make it work even if you wanted to, which I don’t think many people do. The natural game loop is to switch through multiple activities, not do one thing endlessly. The current skill system doesn’t seem to serve any purpose other than to torture new players by boring them to death until they have maxed out multiple skillsheets/characters, and annoy endgame characters in perpetuity. That isn’t a good new player or end game player experience. It is just bad all around.
I mostly spend time forging and crafting for forging, I don’t do most of the gathering or mining for it though. I just buy all the base materials, and i only need 1 skill page for all of this.
Ok, I stand corrected. There is one person using a single page on a single character. I should have said ALMOST no one does this. I also tend to think of everyone as building to at least some extent, and I guess that isn’t true. If you don’t build, you don’t need chiseling epics and whatnot and might be able to do everything on one skill sheet.
I would go mad doing nothing but forging. My computer would be destroyed in short order. It would go magnet, magnet, magnet, kaboom! And no more boundless.
A machine for transforming blocks from one type to another would be nice. The machine would have a slot for a transform chisel, which of course would lose durability over time. But changing from say igneous to metamorphic or whichever type you needed, en masse
, would be a god send!
An upkeep free way of connecting your builds. Doesn’t have to be portals, could be something which will use less server resources.
But more conevenient, and less immersion breaking, then returning to sanctum, try 3 times (until it doesn’t fail) to open a portal from your list, pay a bigger sum, and warp to the builds beacon, instead of a good selected spot in the build.
I think the solution for this is native player only “gates” which can only be used by the player who built them and in controlled beacons controlled by that player.
