Hi folks. My question about beacons is this: If someone has two characters and a beacon is owned by one of them, is there a way to give ownership of that beacon to the other character? I’m not talking about dual usage or both characters being able to fuel it.
I tend to play mainly one character but one of the beacons near his place I created with the other character because he had a lot of plots to spend. Now I want to just have the whole place to be owned by my main character.
If it’s a lot of plots. I’d unplot a few columns of plots at a time and plot them with the character you want them on. If it’s a small amount of plots. Just delete the beacon and plot them. There is no transfer of the whole beacon to an alt unfortunately.

Yup Georgio is correct you can only really just delete the beacon then refuel it with other Toon then plot it all with the second toon. Just make sure the second one has enough plots or you will need to do like he said a few at a time.

If I delete the beacon and try to place a new one, will everything turn to ash quickly? How long before everything vanishes?
NO the flame will just go out on the beacon, then refuel with new Toon. Things will not ash like a reclaim it will take way more time. So be sure to Delete the beacon NOT reclaim it. But be sure to replot all the plots again with the new toon so you don’t lose anything. It ashes right away if you reclaim it. If you have portals open they wont even close when you delete vs reclaim.

Ok, thanks folks. I’m going to have to save up some plots.
What I’ve found is a good source of experience (and coin) is to eat a teaching pie, and then mine gleam. Refine the gleam and you’ll get more experience, then mint the refined gleam for coin.
It’s what I do when I want to hit 50 real quick. If you need teaching pies and/or AoE hammers, just ask.

The reclaim timers run on 4 hour windows basically if i remember correct. It usually requires no activity in the area but I never totally trusted that because there are situations where the regen routine can get stuck or stop mid reclaim due to bugs. So once a plot is unplotted assume the 4 hour timer started.
When moving plots across characters always go slow and make sure you have the correct plot selected so you don’t miss it. It is very easy to miss plots and then find what you built gone. It will be gone because the “ash process” only works when beacons expire or a reclaim is done. When a plot is unplotted the stuff just will disappear when regen happens.
A good way to move plots over is look at the beacon and see how many plots it has. They check your characters inventory and see how many plots they have used. Once you delete the beacon and start plotting the new area you can watch the counter in your inventory to be sure you didn’t miss any plots once you start adding them.

I think I’m going to re-plot, slowly over time. When I get to a point that I feel comfortable to grab them all, then I may delete the beacon a place a new one.

If you delete the beacon, the rules for lava and water change. (Liquids do not flow over beacon borders but if you remove the beacon, that border is gone.) Be careful if you have lava nearby or built with lava as it can destroy certain blocks.
If you delete your beacon everyone can plot it. So, if you’re in a busy area, someone else might steal your stuff.
If you delete your beacon, or unplot, you might not be able to get the plots back if you’ve built nearby someone else who has protection on. And because your plots are now the younger ones, your neighbor might steal the buffer zone.
Really, that should have been a function in the game - but it isn’t. Or, even better, we should have account wide plots.

Good catch and warning. Plot buffers are 2 wide and based on the oldest plots in that area assuming they have 10,000 prestige or them enabled. So if someone has a plot close to you watch out because things could get ugly quickly.
edit - what I mean by this was that you could have a plot farther into your area (past your boundary) that becomes owned by them because they have the older plots.

why… not just giving other character to all permissions at beacon? with perm to build in your beacon vincinity?

Both of my characters already have permission to build in each other’s areas, but when I needed to expand the plots of an area underneath or up above an existing plot of the other character’s plot, it said that I couldn’t because it would overlap. So I wanted just one character to control them all, since I mainly play the character that is the best at building.
My suggestion is to take that character that you want to control it all and grind out the levels. Use teaching pies and grind experience activities. Use all your cubits to buy additional plots.
