Question regarding gem tools

Where is it best to use gem tools. I am confused do I use amethyst and emerald on corrosion toxic and lush, sapphire and topaz on shock, chill, and metal, and diamond and ruby on blast burn and coal. I know where to find gems but am unsure what tools to use in what environment.

you can use any gem tool any where. the difference between them are stats.

Look at the stats in the knowledge menu you will see the difference.

I think you are confusing gem tools and gem weapons. If you are using gem weapons on a mob that has an affinity for say shock there is higher chance for your attacked to be resisted but that doesnt apply to gem tools.
