i read fleshlight as first, i was like ‘‘what!’’ and then i realised i read it wrong.

Ah pity, I’d really hoped it was like roundabout wit. And @Zouls, hehehe

It’s a torch, not a flashlight. It is emanating light (point light, not a spot light).

Though he have a point, it looks more like the light is coming from the charracter than the torch.

Okey, i will try that. thank you!

This update looks awesome! Might just have to upgrade my package to try it out. Well done!

Oh my… TMI on the “package” upgrade. How would you do that anyway? :pill:

Seriously, I’m not noticing much of a performance difference with my GTX 780 ti desktop graphics card. My frames fluctuate from about 11 to 60 at times, and still do. I haven’t played this on my MacBook Pro yet. Through build 111 it ran great. Hoping 112 is the same.

What’s the weird artifacting down there? Those right-angles don’t represent anything actually on the map.

Think you might have found a bug.

Seems like. I had to run down there to make sure someone hadn’t been building on my, uh, “property.”

Something underwater there would have been totally cool.

I think I’m going to go look in a couple of other places where I have high-altitude vantage points to see if there’s anything else like this.

Yup noticed it on multiple places

The pale blue ones are rendering gaps.

I jumped off an eight-block wall and got killed with a full health bar. I guess we can’t do that anymore.

It’s an artefact coming from the level-of-detail (LOD) generation.

If you think about a flat plane for a moment. In the first LOD region the engine wants to turn a 2x2x2 region into a single bigger block. This is ok if they align. But what happens if the plane is 1 block higher? Then you have a step. Likewise in the second LOD region, where 4x4x4 regions are turned into a single block. And so on.

In this recent release we tweaked the LOD generation to fix some other issues (mainly gaps appearing underground in caves), but it exposed a few more. We have some more ideas to try and make this better. But ultimately it’s quite a hard problem with no perfect solution.

The next patch update will have fixes for the lighting dicontinuity at the LOD transitions, can see here (following the line of the gaps that are still in the water) that the transitions in the land are not really visible anymore.

The gaps in the water will similarly be fixed in the next patch update.

Does the host thing have a actual name?
Goat thing
Hornet
etc…

We used to call it the Horned Gathan i think. the emote for it is called ‘‘doug’’ :doug:

Doug is a nice name.

So, now what am I supposed to do with all this raw meat?

You cook it!

I haven’t figured that out yet either… I have been trying to wear it as armor this whole time!
