Reliable way to get sap?

I know that we get it from trees , but it seems very rare. Are there any planets, trees, plants that give more sap?

I was wandering that to. Seems like its about 10 wood per one sap, with luck maxed out.

Higher tier plannets drop more per block. try cutting wood there.

I feel like my guy with a high luck gets way more sap

10 to 1 sounds like no luck beginner (I mean that was my general feeling when chopping through first levels, that I’m getting 1 sap per 10 trunks roughly).
Anyways, it can’t go too much towards sap as it means less trunk chopped and that’s an important building/crafting material.

Maybe Luck affects how many saps is dropped when you get sap instead of trunk block. Not sure how it all works, but I haven’t noticed getting more sap to trunk ratio when investing in Luck attribute, so maybe higher Luck and higher tier world combined mean that sap to trunk ratio is still the same, but there are a few saps dropping instead of 1?

yes its based on ammount per luck rather than drop per luck now

That is also aimed at you @Astralus (or thats how it seems to work now which sucks tbh)

so think of it like 1/10 one piece of sap will drop at base luck >>> then they still drop 1/10 but the ammount per drop is better (so eg is 0 luck = 1piece per 10… 3 luck = 2 per drop… 6= 4 per drop etc

just remember luck is still RNG even at max levels (i think the max luck (inc Attribut Bonus) = ~15/20%?

Interestingly, the probability of getting sap only improves when you get to a level 5 world, if I am interpreting the files correctly.

I’m also 99% sure luck works in the way it always has. Are you saying that you’ve seen 4 sap drop from 1 tree trunk? If so, from which planet?

all theorizing on my side - speculation, assumptions, educated guess, or whatever you want to call it - basically I’m ignorant in this department :zipper_mouth_face:

I have luck maxed, bonus atributes maxed, and epic gathering, still only 1 sap at a time once per 10 blocks. Luck is broken.

Before I had luck I would get 1 every 6 blocks sometimes.

Aye I would say luck is broken as well. I have it maxed and I feel like I get the exact same amount of materials as my alt char with no luck.

If you are correct, then there is a problem with what’s promised with luck. I absolutely do not get extra resources on my gatherer with luck, than my crafter or hunter, or noob Healer with almost no objectives complete. If luck is working on some things and not others, then by it’s own description it is broke.

So editing this: I am on a t3 world and with luck I am getting iron spits 3x and I think i saw a 4x.
But I do not want to burn cleanse points to see if it still does it with no luck. So this suggest it scales with planets. I still feel it should do SOmETHING on any planet, scale higher on higher tier planets. But I feel it is a waste of misleading skills to use on lower levels.

Well, of course luck increases the probability, that was about what would happen without luck

Before 1.0 luck would increase all drop rates. Now it seems to randomly give 1 extra item once in a while. I want the old luck back if it’s not broken atm. There is no reason whatsoever to nerf luck. We have to spend skill points to get it, those of us who are gatherers should be able to decide if we want to put in skill points for increased resources. Hell, make it an epic “Luck Epic: Increases chance of additional drops by 50%” or something like that if you must. Just give us back the old luck skills loot ratio. I miss farming fibrous and starberries from foliage. I’d make diamond axe and just spend hours farming foliage for fibrous and starberries. Now… hundreds of foliage and less then 5 fibrous.

That may be why we are not seeing the drops we expect. However, I agree with you and liked the old universe drop rates better.

I figured. I really hope they fix it soon. I’m 95% full gatherer and really love my luck stat. Me and my girlfriend have been gathering so much we were the first to have coils for refinery up. And Topaz is rare as hell so that tells you something. Bring back the luck! #freetheluck

With only luck from 5/5 all attributes I would get 70 sap to 700 trunks. With 5/5 all attributes and 3 points in luck I get 100 sap for 600 trunks now. All of this on a lvl1 world.
