I am looking for information about what it takes to spawn certain level meteors. I understand the more players involved in the region when a meteor spawns increases it’s level, and also the higher the player individual level, the better likelihood of bigger meteors.
Does anybody know a hard stat for players per meteor level?
Or a hard stat for player level spawning certain ranges of meteor levels?
And I assume the higher tier planet, the bigger the meteor.
But does anybody have any hard evidence? or field expierence?
I will be hosting a meteor hunting Tournament called “Guild Wars” Be on the lookout…Prize purse of 900 Oort stone and a million prestige trophy. But i need some prep work first…

i think its
lvl 1 meteor = 1 person
lvl 2 meteor = 2-4
lvl 3 meteor = 5 to 9
lvl 4 meteor = 10-15
lvl 5 meteor = 15 - 25
lvl 6 meteor = 25
Those arent the except numbers but i think it is around that.

SePras:
lvl 3 meteor = 5 to 9
You can solo spawn in a Lv-3 meteor but that is the highest you can solo spawn in.
SePras:
lvl 6 meteor = 25
I am pretty sure we have spawned in Lv-6 with around 10 to 15 players but it is not as likely.

I wonder if 3 lvl 50 Char would spawn a lvl 4/5 meteor if you can solo spawn a lvl 3…
Do planet Tiers have a size limit for meteors?

From my personal experience it seems to be:
1 player → level 1
2 players → level 2
~7 players → level 3
~10 players → level 4
~15 players → level 5
~20 players → level 6
Keep in mind there’s a 30% chance to get a higher level meteor than you have players for. source:

hey James, I have a question for you about meteor spawning mechanics. on todays (Jan 10) hunt we went through the "center" of 8+ regions on Norkyna between 9:00pm and 9:30pm EST and didn't spawn a single meteor (not even a distant small one). I feel like I'm letting a bunch of people down :(. I was wondering if there might be some way for you to review what occurred during that time? What mechanism or system is preventing us from getting those meteors? Is there a cap on how many meteors can be active on a planet? Maybe it was already capped before we started? Is there any additional information that you might be able to share regarding the meteor spawning mechanics?

Roughly speaking there are a few systems running.
The old 300m x 300m world grid. Walking into a cell schedules an event in that cell in the next 0mins to 120mins. Unless the grid is on a cool down. Then it’s skipped.
The new named region based system. Which will instantly spawn an event unless the region is on a cool down.
I think both cools downs are roughly 120mins.
There is a maximum number of events in the world but I doubt it’s hitting that.
I’m assuming that someone else explored the regions before you so all the regions were on cool downs.
