Response issue

So I noticed in the last couple of days before todays update so it is not related. So when you walk thru a portal that before you can open a door, chest or walk through another portal the server has to recognize the beacon you are in which is what it is supposed to do. It is recognizing the planet right away but the beacon is taking much longer to do so. So like if you are walking thru the high tier network lets say when you get to the next portal it is open but you cannot pass thru it until it pops up the beacon name. It has really slowed down as I could almost run through the network and now it is hesitating quite a bit. Like I said this was before todays update so I believe it to be unrelated. anyone else seeing this seems to only happen when walking thru a portal. It also is not related to changing servers. I can stay on say Maryx walk thru a portal to another beacon of mine on Maryx and have to stand their way longer for it to recognize the beacon before I can walk thru the next portal still on Maryx. I would say something with the time it takes to recognize beacons has slowed down a bunch.

I just logged on to see if it is the same on my end.. I know yesturday I did not have this issue but as @Wondernut mentioned above now I’m having the same issue. Any portal I come up to.. it loads and you can see through to the other side but it takes 3 to 7 second before it allows me to go through. Just like mentioned above it takes that long to load the beacon THEN it lets you go through.

Thanks for reporting! I’ll see if I can track that down and get it fixed.

yes this is happening for me as well, I also noticed AFTER the update sanctum is glitching out. I go to the right to warp home and the menu is glitched open allowing me to move around while the menu is still showing. going through portals also takes a while to load Planet Name, settlement, and you can’t grapple for a good 10-15 secs

I hadn’t had that until tonight and yeah that is new, the menu is there but you can’t click on the open spot lol. I just switched toons then back and I was able to click it.

Noticed another issue tonight, I decided to clear up a few reclaims i had. When you get to the menu to pick the one you want to empty and then click on reclaim when that open. The reclaim is delayed in opening. It used to be almost instant.

Yeah I had the same issues with the portals last night. I could see through the portal but wouldn’t let me through for a few seconds.

Not sure this is the same for everyone, but just tested the portals and found I am only unable to walk through when I have the Interstellar Stasis buff. Watching the buff icon, you are able to run through the portal the instant it leaves…

I dont know if this is the same issue, but the last 2 Days, i was on Exo Planets. And every time i died and respawned, i could not move or change Hands and so on, for about 4-5 seconds.

Sounds like that’s to do with Interstellar stasis.

As you may know, I’ve been trying to figure out why a world’s main update loop would start slowing down heavily with 15+ players.

I thought, there must be something that starts taking longer when there are more players, and so it can’t keep up. One wrong idea was: I see it writing a lot to disk during that time, maybe it’s because it’s saving every second and that’s too frequent with that many players? I tried increasing the save interval to 10 seconds, and that’s what caused the delay you noticed. I lowered it back to 1 second.

I think the right answer was the main thread was getting outcompeted for cpu time by all its worker threads. I fixed the slowdown by lowering the priority of the worker threads slightly and now the main thread updates smoothly.

Just ran from Circapous through the Dragon Network to a planet orbiting Houches. Yesterday this was a process lol… today I blipped on through like lightning!
