Roadrunner Rough Oort Drop 100%

I would like Roadrunners to have a 100% drop rate for Rough Oort.

Why:
Roadrunners are my main source of rough Oort, which is needed to fuel portals. My secondary method is collecting from Dormant Meteorites which takes me longer to get Oort than hunting roadrunners. I dont bother to buy rough oort from shops because I need that coin for forged tools.

Pls refer to another post I did that roughly explains why I cant do the “more exciting” activities of collection… which are opposite of exiting for me, but a real life health hazard: Adrenaline hurts me.

I wouldnt be surpised (and I expect) people to not agree to this increased drop rate.

For those who disagree, imagine if, everytime you feel an adrenaline rush, it hurt like a bruise, all over your skin, and it felt like you are having a heart attack. Then when the flow is done increasing, you are so tired and sore and exausted for hours after, as if you just ran a marathon.

I know typically people do not want to hear about real life, but when games can affect me physically in real life, just saying “I dont like adrenaine” can be easily combatted with “just deal with it” as if it were something I’m just being snowflakey about.

I wish my body didnt behave like it does, because I do want to enjoy so many games out there, including all of what Boundless has to offer… but I do not control how my body reacts to hunts, and anything rushed. Not hurting is a higher priority for me than enjoying all of what games have to offer. There’s enough in Boundless for me to enjoy to continue playing, I just skip out on some stuff.

If Roadrunners drop was 100%, I maybe have more supply to have a couple more portals, or a bigger one than the one 1x2 I have.

But as it is, one 1x2 is ok, I hate being insulted and told to just get gud, as if I want to hurt myself more? No! Some ppl do not understand. Hunting roadrunners for an hour was relaxing, and not adrenaline enducing for most of the time (incoming meteors kinda pumped the flow a litle but not enough to be terribly painful). I killed more of the Birds than I got stones of. Came across one dormant meteor and added two more roughstone to my collection.

Edit to add:
My intent with this suggestion and post is not to hurt people (as far too many have miss assumed that I’m trying to be bad, and I’ve not wanted to do wrong nor hurt anyone since 1981). My intent is to help me hurt less and enjoy more of this game, wishing all the best for everyone. I apologize if this truth about me hurt you, that hurt was not my intent (I dont know why people get hurt by my truth) I hope you feel better soon!

Why not sell all the adrenal gland you get from hunting the roadrunners? You should be able to sell or trade them for about double the worth of oort, not to mention all the feathers. I opened a portal for you as well to a nice spot on Malurialakrib through guardian network. Happy hunting :v:

Can you mine gems on lava filled worlds or does that also cause a jolt? You can easily profit 150k coins per hour mining with speed hammers and starberry pies on T6 worlds. Sell metals, coal, fossils, and gems for coin then buy new gear before checking your profit which you could spend on Oort.

Edit: I’d also rather collect my own items but don’t enjoy hunting for oortstone, and cannot be bothered with that RNG forge machine.

I can show you a zero adrenaline Tier 3 planet meteor hunting method as well if you would like. You’re completely invincible to all but the toughest lvl 3 meteor mobs, and even then it’s not particularly dangerous. I promise it’s boring if you don’t mind me teaching

Agree with OP as well. If roadrunners have gizzards they need oort stones to digest food properly.

I absolutely think we need an alternative way to get Oort that does not involve hunting. I am not sure if Roadrunner are the way because that is still hunting, but we definitely need something.

I know the original plan was for T8 worlds to have oort seams to mine. I personally would love to see those introduced.

They will probably have the Hunter and therefore resort to fighting (or, more likely dieing) anyway.

Selling items to the community is not something I enjoy. One of the things I dont enjoy with selling is when people might have anger issues if I undercut them on accident, or if my prices are too high (relative to others prices). I’ve had people in other games be purposefully vindictive as a response to my lack of research of other’s prices. I dont fancy that kind of homework. Not having portals for myself is easier on me than upkeep of Shop Stands.

Well said Angellus, thank you. I agree. I want a non-hunter way to get oort.

Have you tried out just using BUTT to find people buying the things you have to sell in decent quantities?

Not at all. I dont even know what that is other than a word I dont like, I avoid the topic.

Verbally interacting with people is not one of my good skillsets. I regret having said so much, but all is honest. I have in-game chat off because of (deletes rant)

Here, B.U.T.T. is a tool for searching for places that are buying or selling stuff. It uses an official API to get the data, so it’s up to date within a few hours.

When I want to sell stuff, I’ll search here, use the left “Buying” chart and find someone buying in a decent quantity, and then go sell there. Once I get to the world, I use the knowledge tab to get a marker for the shop so it’s easier to find, since sometimes you end up having to travel for it.

For example, I have a great deal of tallow I need to sell, so I would probably pop into one of these two shops to sell, since they have enough cash in baskets for 14k tallow each.

Sometimes I’ll take lower prices just so I don’t have to deal with them running out of coin, or so I can sell more to one place.

Hopefully this helps you some. The biggest downside of this tool, IMO, is that you can’t search for forged goods.

Interesting, now I know more of what that is. I think I’d rather go without portals than to sell/buy items still. Thanks for the info.
