we could call them ‘gifts’ and act surprised every time! it’ll be hard, but we can make it work for the greater good
and I found this
Bad Pallet Town. . .
Don’t we already gamble with the centreforge tho?
Shhhhh . . don’t tell anyone. .
No it’s just called RnG!
So a dice roll?
Yup just RNG as well! Definitely not gambling! We’re safe!! Lol
They’re just forging! Geez! Haha
@Havok40k Assuming I win the initiative, I am going to throw the large piece of wildstock I am carrying to it.
You win init, roll a check for the throw
I’m heading down to the ‘Goodfellas’ to see a man about a dog. nudge nudge, wink wink.
Your throw is successful! Not anticipating the flying meat slab aimed for its gullet, the mimic swallows and chokes on the wildstock! It has disadvantage for its next 5 turns.
Well as I was not thinking about going hunting and we were going to a casino I don’t have a fist or slingbow on me. So I will hit it with my Wayfare’s Totem.
Official Dice roller:
Ya it would be useful for hosting RP events, games, giveaways, or just fun rolling against a friend to do it.
I’m strongly in favor of anything that could amount to a minigame, especially interactive blocks that you could theme a build around.
Looks like you want it added as like an emote function, so I’m picturing /roll100 would ‘say’ “Jaidic rolled x”. If you are able to set the parameters though, it would need to say what the parameters are first to keep from cheating. So “Jaidic rolled 1-32” couple seconds go by “Jaidic rolled 11”. Then we’d kind of also need an animation for the rolling, though the animation couldn’t show the number or we’d need a ton of different ones.
Might it be easier to add an interactive block where, for example, we could edit it like a sign to show the range displayed on top and bottom then roll with a transform chisel and the number shows on the sides?
Either way you’d have to be there to give prizes or whatever. Only way we could really make a casino is if there were functions to take coin to enable it, then set a certain winning number to unlock access to the prize stand.
Have you tried to build own “dice” in game with ice slopes and some pyramid divider where people could drop item like totem? Not handy as /roll or /flip but could work in some buildings
This thread was a gem and a great suggestion. A bot may have carelessly revived it, but I’m gonna bump it and ask @monty1 and co to please consider this and other adventure building tools for a future Boundless update!
