Please, tell me why sap and starberries use different mechanic against of ores and gems? If you will remake starberries like ore for leaves, it will allow you to make starberries branch on trees.
Well, I want to spot next few things:
Sap and starberries can be obtained by player placed blocks.
It’s no needed to look for sapwood or starberries branches.
You can add new receipt to extractor: 5 trunks => 1 sap
Soil, sand, dirt, trunks and leaves are not used in resource distribution. You can add soft coal to soil and ancient tech to sand for example.
Resources not drop base blocks. It means when you broke coal seam in rock then it drops only coal, not coal+rock. It’s strange.
I like your idea for replacing the random drop of sap with compacting 5 trunk. Same could be done for leaves by have 5 leaves in an extractor to get berries. This would give leaves a value other than a decorative block!
@Okkelinor,
I get you on the base block, it is a bit odd and I agree it should probably drop the base block in addition to the other resource. So sap and berries both have a 25% chance. 1/4 = 25% so by that logic the extraction/compact process should yield similar results… no?
If you’re extracting coal from a block, and breaking that block completely, I don’t think you should get the block as well… at best it would just gravel and coal
berries should be more frequent sap as well. if you live anywhere where there are berries or sap in the trees or shrubs, you know that during times of fruiting / seasons the resources are abundant.
a 50% chance would be better.
that way when im out getting owned by wildlife and spitters, i can hack up some emergency run away food before its too late
actually, i wouldnt mind seeing blocks that show the berries or sap just like the blocks that show ore, which is what i think dude in the op was originally trying to say. that would be a nice visual touch, however i do think they should both be more frequent, especially berries.
