Shout and Say Range

I experimented and found the following:
Say range is 50m in a sphere.
Shout range is 500m in a sphere.
Distance is calculated by Pythagorean distance sqrt(North^2 + East^2 + Altitude^2). Note that it does not match Track distance! I’ve seen track distance to be wrong (480m tracked would not hear the Shout)
Corrections welcome.

You can turn on shout by typing /shout with nothing next to it and pressing enter. Or you can click the small box in the chat to select /shout.

I thought it was 400m shout. Know I know better

I always assumed shout could be heard if we were in the same region lol. Good to know.

I have not tested this. If you know of any region longer than 500m that would be cool to check out!

Edit: Tested this. One person was SE of a region and the other was in the region center. At 501m we couldn’t hear each other. At 499m we were able to. If you know of a region center that is 500m itself we can also test. Or if someone’s drilled a 256 altitude hole and we can do 256 altitude distance and 429m horizontal distance.

Just for clarity, are these distances the radii or the diameters of these ranges?

Good question! Radius.
