When using the larger signs on the ps4, is there a way to create a 2nd, 3rd line of text? I’ve even plugged in a keyboard and hit shift+enter but still no luck. Am I missing something or is this not currently applicable to the ps4 keypad that pops up when entering your sign text?

Sign Modules should be able to depending on how many you have put down.
Well, I’ve placed a massive sign 7 wide 3 high, and still have no option for more than one line of text. Are you playing on ps4 and able to do it, or just assuming it works like the pc version?
If memory serves, there is a limit to how much text can be shown on the main part of the sign(one line that scales according to the sign’s size) however, there is a secondary area you can place more text in for the player to read if they interact with the sign.

No option to do a return for a new line.
I have tried putting a lot of spaces in the hopes it forced it to do a line break [it didn’t]
No idea how to do it on PS4
I am also hating the sign colours. I guess they are made out of the stones used to make them but I have completely cleared all stones form inventory and machine storage and then placed light grey rocks and crafted. They came out green 
So far purple and green signs that are impossible to read due to colour and no line break to space it out.

They need to add the same keyboard playstation use for messaging, you can hit a soft enter in that to not finish your text.
Also, text colour options would be great, even if it’s just white or black!

I only bought the ps4 pro to play boundless so it’s new to me. After googling I did see that normally there is a carraige return button which is just a blank button in boundless.
Guess it’s an oversight and it will likely get fixed if enough folk mention it. Does make signs on the PS4 somewhat limited.
Text colour would be nice, I have managed to get a sign colour now that is clearly readable

Any update on line breaks on PS4? My signs’ text is tiny because it writes everything on 1 line and thus makes the font size smaller…
I don’t have a sign in my game yet. But have you tried [alt+enter] or [shift+enter] on a keyboard? Sometimes that works for line breaks.

I tried that, yes, doesn’t work. There is supposed to be a newline key on the onscreen keyboard, either I totally overlooked it or it’s not showing in Boundless, will look if it’s there once servers are back up

Would it help if the OP moved this to the support category rather than general? It isn’t on the known issues list so would be good to get confirmation from the devs that they are aware of this.
For reference, even writing the text in the PSN messages window (where enter button is available) and using copy/paste doesn’t work.
doesnt help much butt on pc its enter
untill its fixed you could ask pc players to write them just temp

There is currently no way to do line breaks using a PS4 controller, but I can pass on your feedback.

To clarify the issue, it is not with the PS4 controller itself, rather the text input window/function. Using a USB keyboard makes no difference. In other applications the on-screen keyboard has a line break button in between R3 and R2, as seen here.
Text including line breaks can be copied and pasted… but the line break is removed when doing so.
It’s super annoying indeed.
The only viable solution i found and i use, is to simply split signs into more signs.
So instead of doing a 3 tall 3 wide sign, i do 3 signs that are 1 high and 3 wide, and write each line on a sign of its own, making the text large enough.
I’ve also been forced to split up signs in order to make a second line of text no matter how many signs I put up. I’m also on PS4.
How about those mini text keyboards you plug into the controllers? Any luck on those? I personally use a PC keyboard on my PS4 for communication, although I will admit I have not been able to make multiple lines in a sign.
Bump because this issue is super frustrating…we need line breaks!
