I machine that you can put your ores in and it will melt them to liquid. Then you can poor them into a mold to make pieces of tools. So I can poor my liquid diamond into a hammer head mold and poor my liquid iron into a handle mold then forge them together on an anvil. Creating a tool with shared traits of both materials.
I know the current system isn’t totally accurate but can you smelt diamonds irl? I don’t really see the point of this since all tools already share the same traits in different ratios and tiers. Maybe if it allowed you to choose the ratios I’d be on board but that would just end up being a cosmetic use since the large variety of gem tools allows for most use cases.
You can, it just take an extreme amount of pressure and somewhere around 5000C
Played the Minecraft mod Tinker’s Construct, eh?
After a very brief bit of research on google I’ve come to the firm conclusion of no, you cannot smelt diamond. You can theoretically melt it but the conditions required are absurd. Even more reson why i dislike this idea.
That is what I was refering to. or trying to refer to. and yes it takes an extreme amount to do it.
You got me interested so i looked into it. Thanks for the answer btw.
Always nice when a game causes you to go out and learn something new that relates to irl science
How do you imagine smelted diamonds?
If we’re really getting into it, diamond would make a really terrible tool material to begin with
Lol love how I can get people really thinking. Melting Diamonds feels like something out of a movie using star power. Like Thor. Now we need a way to make Thor’s hammer in this game.
Also yea thinkers construct mod is awesome if they just ripped that whole concept off and put it in this game I would be cool with that.
