Smelters/Molds a fun concept for tool design in game!

I am not sure how the forge will function so I am putting this out there. I would love a system where you have to build a smelter and melt ore into liquid form and then pour that into molds that you would craft. I was a huge fan of that mod in Minecraft, I would still have been playing that mod before I started up boundless but the modding system was super annoying and I got a new computer so I didn’t bother messing with it because my friend did it for me and he moved.

Adding more realistic tool crafting would be a dream I seriously hope that people love this idea. Part of the greatness was when you smelted ore you could see the melted ore in the smelter. There was like a glass window or something (kinda crazy) but it allowed you to see all the different ones you had smeltee in there you could also open a menu and see more specific levels of each kind. When you mixed certain ores it would become a better material. Like legitimate ores could be mixed together to make legitimate metals. When poured into molds you could watch it pour from through the nozzle into the mold you had placed. It was awesome. Then you would assemble the pieces. Certain molds were consumable and had one use, steel or metal ones could be saved and used again. The smelter was a combination of all the different parts such as the nozzle and the base and could only hold a certain amount of liquid ore until you built it larger.

Any Minecraft fans on here who know the mod I am talking about? Maybe we could bring it up so everyone could get a better idea of what I am talking about. I know the developers are super busy but I would love for them to see this maybe it would give them new concepts to add to the tool crafting process. As I said I have no idea how the forge will work but if we can add to it to make it more like forging tools in real life that would be awesome!

Pretty sure you mean the smelteries in tinker’s construct, and the general tool customisation that comes with it too

you would love Life Is Feudal so - you literally move between your kiln and anvil, need to keep an aye on your fire and how metals melt and then form them into bars and lumps and eventually use to craft something; but every single step is animated and your character cant do anything else; so crafting part is really spot on - its a different kind of game though and in here it wouldn’t work too well; its good crafting happens on its own and you can go and do sth else while crafting clock counts down
