What are the downsides of being in a guild? Is there a cost to your character?
I wanted to make a guild for High Ridge and align all of my alts’ beacons. What will this do to my footfall? Will I get more if I’m not aligned? I pretty much survive on footfall, despite my best efforts. Would the borders of my settlement stay the same?
How do the boons work? Am I going to have to constantly feed these things?
if it’s just you/your alts in the guild it should not affect footfall, but paying for the buffs would be nearly impossible unless you have millions to spare when there’s only one person funding the guild
guild buffs cost coin to activate btw. some upwards of 140k.
and it lasts for a week.
Just join a big guild. I didn’t want to join one and I wanted to stay solo, but I ended up joining one just for the perks. In the end though, I ended up liking being in a guild and it gives me some reason to build things.
EDIT: and the perks are pretty awesome, especially the grapple one.
It’s just my alts in my guild, did it primarily to keep the settlement identity. I haven’t bothered with any of the buffs because as ctrl-64 said unless you have some cash cow footfall beacons you would be constantly broke. It doesn’t affect your footfall if it’s just you and your alts and you can still join another guild for their buffs if you want too. There’s no real downside to creating your own one.
