Sorry but the Gentleman's Club sign is NOT Innapropriate!

It’s kinda like the pay-to-win thread, it exists, and when someone new shows up, we can direct em to it lol

I will agree with the point that clear boundaries need to be set and that ultimately it is up to the developers. I would do it before the PS4 launch. I will also agree this will happen more often in the future without such defined rules/ boundaries.

It was simply “adult content”. Not “very”, we all know what “very” adult content is :stuck_out_tongue:

Lol nah, this isn’t the best “welcome to the community” thread for a new person

No I meant, if someone shows up askin’ about why they can’t make a such n’ such buildin…

I know… I was just kidding. I even put the lol in there for emPHAsis

They just need’to say something like, “Don’t make anything you can’t find in a Disney PG movie from the last 10 years”

@James (I ask you because I saw you talking to the beacon owner today), I think the people are right here: We need defined rules on what is allowed and what not when building. This building will not be the last one which is controversial and if there are no rules given you will have much more moderating work on your side.

I think if such an amusing building is removed merely on the basis of the histrionic outrage of a vocal minority here on the forums it sets a bad precedent moving into an environment where a much larger audience will also be joining and making their mark on the game. It also raises the question for me: What constitutes “inappropriate”? Are some of my buildings also going to be arbitrarily removed?

That’s why we need a set of defined rules so that all can see what is allowed and what not. Of cause there will always be some buildings which have to be reviewes case by case, but with global set of rules the mayority of such “questionable buildings” can be seen as what they are: allowed or not allowed.

Ironic that the “outrage” was classified as histrionic.

I agree; but in the absence of a clear set of rules or even guidelines, to punish somebody ex post facto for transgressing some set of standards he couldn’t have been aware of, is unreasonable.

Edit: Though I will add that in my opinion any defined set of rules should be generally very permissive, as this is a creative game and people should be free, within reason, to do as they like.

Still, keep in mind that this game is aimed to be 7+, so there have to be some restrictions. But yes, as open as possible is of cause the greater aim

I’ll just try to say my piece. I consider this isn’t a debate about why something is ok or not to show and why. Debates about the right and wrong of something are constituted by the context and past experiences surrounding the topic for every culture and each individual. It would surely be different for everyone and will reach this point of conflict as it’s reached now.

I think the matter at hand is that at the end of the day this is a game that kids are allowed access to. This game has an esrb rating, and whatever that rating might be, I think it should be followed and respected. Wether you as a parent feel something is right for your son or another parent feels that it’s not, it’s not up to debate here. There’s not black or white on parenting, and neither should it be on boundless.

I’m all for pushing boundaries and making things more of what they used to be. But I don’t think boundless is the game to have that moral discussion, it shouldn’t go there. It’s just a game that kids and adults play and at the end of the day can be fine without having to go there. The best approach for me is to prevent anything like that happening instead of fighting it in game. It makes parents jobs so much easier knowing what’s being presented to their kids, if you are totally ok to showing “banned” content, then do so through other mediums than boundless, that’s your place as a parent. I just don’t think boundless is the place for that.

Tldr: respect the games rating, this is not about right or wrong, it’s about having a game that can be played by kids. Without having adults worry about what’s being shown to the kids.

I’m on the same page that guidelines or rules should be more explicit.

ESRB says 10+?

ok, may be I was remembering wrong here … What ever it is, the rules should of cause fit to that set rating

it’s hardly punishment to be asked to remove/change part of a build (actually, only decoration and not build as such)

As someone who lives in 'MURICA!, I see this symbol all over the place. So I agree that it is NOT innapropriate. I really hope these people with an issue with a symbol that is NOT sexual don’t end up boycotting the planet. That would be horrible
