When I start up boundless it loads then halfway through loading the credits screen it stops loading and stays there. I’ve tried reloading the update, restarting my ps4 and testing internet connection but it still does it. Will I need to reinstall the game?

I got a little confused when you said credits screen, but I think you meant the screen with the loading spinner. It could be related to this:
