There has been a TONNE of negativity on here lately and I need to remind EVERYONE that making a great game is TRAIL and ERROR and takes a LOT of TIME.
So, let’s make a list in this thread of all the things we absolutely love about the Devs and their amazing game.
I’ll go first, I’ve already made a post about this but the sound in this game is exquisite. Totally beautiful! (Especially on surround sound headphones!)
Honest I’ve never found myself stuck on a game like this…I came along this game looking for a new game to get lost in. I spent $1000 to back this game and have seen nothing but progress and help from the devs. The only problems I have is I move too much lol (un-plot all <—devs) other than that I don’t understand how more people aren’t playing this …absolutely fantastic game and I recommend it to anyone I come across who games.
Good reason for that though. They might not be advertising much because of the server demand. It seems like they are still sorting that out but still!! Streamers do a good job of advertising games these days without the companies having to do anything
I love how much attention the devs pay to the community and how we feel about the game. They do a great job making it feel like it’s our game too, not just theirs.
its the same 20 people hired by minecraft all the rest is running around in the game building cool stuff lool
the game is awesome is only game i have and play and also especially was looking out for
found it in a youtube vid about sandbox games
after that never stopped
for me the game hasnt change that much from what they did in the beginning all cool upgrades for me
thats why i let the unusable chairs pass my radar
all the stuff dev’s put into game after we all talked about it never seen that before i def feel like we all made it together
thats what alot off people forget i think and now sorta think they have to listnen to us wich they dont but still do
thats what makes the dev’s the best ive ever met
to tired to spell check etc
i think the game is more a game for people who look for it
think alot people that play it for a cool ad will not get whats it about and be upset i say ok more adds butt def decent adds not just flashy this is it adds if y afollowz
So in my efforts to build a nice little ship…after i started chiselling the skeleton, adding detailing with machined metal etc and then surveying it (nowhere near finished mind you) it struck me how much better it looked than the tall ships i’d do in mc. I’m a builder at heart and will always compare to those type a games. It’s really spurring me on to attempt full size replica somewhere, then i’d have larger surface area to chisel real details in among 4 block squares.
It might turn to ■■■■ once I get to sails but hopefully the game will deliver there too.
I do wish though we had 1 block size stickers for things like cannons, utensils and so on
I have been playing two years now and it has been amazing watching this dev team work. time and time agean i have seen them listen to community feed back and react usually by coming up with a solution that best fits everyone.
they have willingly sculpted their dream of what they feel this game should be with feedback from the comunity.
I have witnesed generation after generation of new playtesters join blame them for not listening to there player base only to have to eat there words when major changes are made presisly becous of the suggestions made by that generation.
the devs are amazing and so is the game we have created. I say we becous every step of the way they have made me feel like I have been part of the processes.
I haven’t been this in love of a game since I modded Minecraft for the first time. The environment is beautiful, the sound design, the mechanical design. But if I wanted to pick a favorite feature, it would be the clear framework that’s been laid for expansion. I’m so excited to see what this game turns into once it gets out of theses awkward teenage years we’re in
I love the sky in this game. My workshop has an open roof just so that I can see it. I love being able to see the planets overhead. I do wish we had moons and that the the planets and moons would show as partially lighted (phases).
I also love chiseling. It is simply amazing what someone can do with basic angles and the right material/lighting.
Finally, I love the community. Everyone I have met in-game has been nice and helpful. I don’t realisticly expect that to be globally true of all players, but so far so good!
I made one of these threads when i first joined the forum and thought the same, “this game is awesome, but seems people are having a bad week”.
After being very active for about a month now, its still an awesome game of course, but the negativity on these forums is the same.
Its just a handful of people who seem to think complaining is a way to change the game to suit themselves, and seem to have a weird level of self entitlement where this is acceptable behavior. Not sure if its a generational thing, but ive always thought you should be appreciative if someone else makes something you enjoy. And if there are things you dont enjoy, you dont have to do them. Seeing people threatening to sue because it doesnt work the way they want it to is simply disgusting. Dont know who made them think they ‘deserve’ anything in life, but i truely hope they fall hard one day finding out thats not true.
I wish the devs didn’t actually care so much about the community, and the success of the amazing experience they’ve created, and would just ban the bad seeds bringing it down. But thats also what i love about it. They really do care about the game, the community, and every minor detail of the experience, way more than anyone playing it… or they wouldnt be doing it and none of us would be here having any opions at all.
To summarise, i love the dev team for everything they have created. And for putting up with all of us while they continue to build on it. And of course everything actually game related that comes from that.
I really like how attentive the devs are to pushing out the fixes and updates. Shows they do care about their customers and are willing to polish the game as much as they can. I also really love the building in this game! Never been much of a builder but this game has pulled that little bob the builder right out of me lol Chisels are definitely a nice touch. The community is fantastic as well, always helpful whenever you need it.
This might be mostly over looked aspect of the game, but for me, the small things can count alot.
I really like the design of the Menus in this game, the way the menus react to your mouse clicks and move away from it a tiny bit.
And the way the menus are not facing right at you, but slightly angled to add a slight 3D feel to the menus, the effect is more noticeable when you click on the menu and it reacts to your mouse click.
I’ve cancelled all of my pre-orders for the rest of the year, I know I won’t get around to it anyway, rather buy some more cubits, am addicted, it’s so much fun! (even tho there are still some bugs to iron out).
Also I can see the amazing potential! So much more they could do! Hopefully enough people keep playing this game so we will actually see many of the things they still haven’t gotten around to yet to make the game even more fun!
On a purely cost per hour basis… this game offers so much more than anything i have seen for years. Theres AAA titles these days with about 5 hours of content for $100, which works out about $20/hr entertainment. Boundless is literally in the cents per hour of entertainment category, and thats just so far. We know there is more coming, which may even reset the clock.
I love that there is so much to do and it takes a while to do it. I moved my settlement between planets about 4 days ago, and still havent even bothered placing the coils and centraforge i already have yet. And i dont plan too for a while cause theres a million other things on my list i still want to do first.
What he said. I love that I never run out of things to do, and I always have fresh ideas. When those ideas run low, I got look at someone’s build or some planet I have yet to visit, and I’m like yeah! There’s something else I can do or a new color of block or some Boulder I never came across before or, or, or…well you get the idea. I found Boundless while brainstorming an idea for a game and thought to call it Boundless, and found out I was too late! Which is awesome, savede about a million dollars and a few sleepless nights
