So, amidst the annoying trolling we got last night, something really cool happened too…
There were 38 of us trotting around Ceph, doing our thing and a guy joined us.
When he left he explained that he came online to delete his beacons because he thought the game had run its course, he saw all of us and decided to stay.
Posting this because its IMPORTANT to reach out to the community and bring people together because the game is not dying nor do I want it to.
(If the guy is reading this, I’m glad you decided to stay)
Your hunt on Ceph was great. Ceph was the planet that I first hunted on, and we used to end up with a little group randomly joining, and then we all outgrew those small hunts. But now it’s refreshing to see Ceph attracting so many people for your hunts. It is a great planet for hunting, and hopefully your hunts will be around for a long time and help people reconnect with the community.
Awesome, thank you. I’ve also made sure I’m getting alerts from one of the channels with a hunt bot. Hopefully I’ll be able to make it to that - I usually have flexibility on my lunch break time, but it depends on what’s going on at work.
This, hehe!! I’ve got a CrankyPaka… I think I made a NaughtyPaka, and I definitely need to make an AnnoyingPaka.
But seriously, don’t let the trolls phase you - you are doing a WONDERFUL thing with the hunts! And you are so right about the community - I’ve also noticed in so many comments that often it is the community that hooks people, keeps them here, just how much a welcome and friendly, helpful interaction mean to folks.
Hiya, just wanted to say that I don’t often participate in your hunts but the ones I did come on were very well done. I hope to see them continue for some time because it’s nice to occasionally feel apart of a community. Normally I just build and gather resources with my couple of friends.
This is how I used to find out, but I couldn’t deal with the little red #s in discord. Any time I opened it every channel had multiple notifications and I ended up leaving them all after being unable to disable the little bubble. I don’t do well mentally with notification icons, they stress me out after working a desk job I hated for 4.5 years. I wish there was a place I could go to view the bot’s activity feed instead of getting notifications sent at me.
I had every server that I joined globally muted, each individual channel muted, and mentions turned off globally but I’d still get little notification icons and never did find a way to completely get rid of the badge icons. It was easier for me to stop using discord.
you have to go into every server and disable everyone and here I think
I barely do anything in boundless rn, Beth’s hunt last night was the first one I’ve joined in a while. I brought my mom so I kept rushing ahead and then double checking that she was catching up
