Now honestly I can understand the special crafting options for those who were able to pay for the more expensive support options, though I still remember playing when players were green blocks, grapples were wire frames and wildstock were static models moving like a chess piece, and yea while this post is partially fuelled by jealousy, but also considering that I’ve been playing (granted its been on and off) for 4ish years now. I think that the founders totem should be available for all who’ve played pre release, and something such as maybe special multi tools could replace the founders totem for those who did pay more, as they do deserve some special crafting options. Otherwise just in general I believe all pre alpha players should have some sort of special crafting that won’t be available to people joining after release. Other people’s opinions? I mean, I’m not going to make a big deal out of something that small, just figured it’s an idea maybe worth mentioning? Now I don’t know if the devs were planning on something special for all the pre release plyers or not, and if they were then cool beans! I don’t mean to sound concieted at all, just looking for a little something for even us broke people that have supported Boundless (Oort Online when I bought the game) from alpha as to stand out to the new players from the games release as someone who can and would be wiling to help them as well as sort of a sign of ?Founder? Status. What’s everyone else’s thought?

I actually felt the same way because I thought we early access backers would all have that Founder’s Totem given its name. Probably change its name so it won’t make me feel like I’m not in the “Founders” group which I am since I’m included in Founders category of the forum (don’t kick me please!).
Anyway, there’s also an exclusive craftable weapon and another exclusive one which I forgot that will be available for the lower tier and I’m eligible for it so there’s that.
Well all the backer packages that you could purchase from the website before they took them down had exclusive tool and weapon in the list for a lot of them. Perhaps if you didn’t get a high enough package that included it, you weren’t going to get it.
I haven’t used or created the Founder’s Totem yet, but it’s basically on par with Titanium Tools. It’s an all in one Titanium Tool. The exclusive weapon is some sort of Fist weapon and my guess is those that had founder backer packages that included that feature will get it once Lance weapons are added to the game and it would be on par with a certain item quality and tier as them (guessing Titanium as well).
As far as who’s eligible, I am not exactly sure. I think Wayfarer is was the lowest package you could get to get those exclusive items from but I am unfortunately not sure on that one.
This kind of stuff is pretty on par with how other MMOs give certain backer levels exclusive stuff they can’t get anywhere else, such as a mount or weapon skin or whatever the case might be. I don’t think it’s that big of an issue but since Titanium tools are pretty damn cost effective to make it might be something you can get from someone’s shop at a reasonable price once there’s a lot more shops that get built and come online. Not the best solution, but it’s an option available.
I do agree that anyone who was in early access before the wipe for 1.0 and was in the alpha and beta tests should get the exclusive items to craft and use regardless of what their backer level was. It is what it is.
Thank you for the explanation, cleared up my curiosity. And as for being on par with other MMO’s, so far it seems that the devs have gone above and beyond in almost every aspect of this game, so why not with the support to the players that supported them? I mean, that’s just a personal opinion though.
Thank you, you are invaluable <3 Also I want to take a moment and rephrase my most recent comment, not that the developers haven’t supported the pre alpha players, I just kinda wish that there were maybe more variant of the founders totem or other exclusives in a way, because as great as the weapon might be, I myself can’t see using it too often considering that I’m more of a gatherer and builder rather than a hunter, amd also considering that if I had been able to I would’ve definitely paid more to help support the game to not only receive the exlusive benefits but also to increase the budget the developers had to make the game better or pacen up it’s development, however you’d wish to look at it. But the sad truth is that I am not nor have really ever been financially stable due to a long list of problems irl that need not be mentioned specifically, and also I’m sure the fact that I’m still only 22 (16 or 17 at the time I purchased the game) has something to do with that.
If I had been playing more consistently than I wanted to over the last couple weeks, I might be swamped in Titanium right now and could be selling smart stacks of them for cheap or even raffle off free ones to some people. I don’t know. Haven’t got that far yet in progressing through the game.
When i purchased my packs (cant even remember the level names) they clearly stated which levels had what perks planned. Mine was cheap and didn’t include such a perk, and i was okay with that.
If devs decide to give all early access players something that would be amazing, but i dont think i can justify asking for something that i knew was available but couldn’t afford / didn’t pay for. Just my 2c
If things would have been more clear I would have updated a long time ago, 40 euro diference is not that much in this case. Now, there’s nothing I can do about it I suppose.
I hope I didn’t come across as rude, as I certainly hadn’t intended too, but I also hope that my opinion had made some sense? I certainly don’t want to say that you guy’s haven’t done a great job, because from every angle you look at the game, as I said before, you guys have gone above and beyond, I just hope that no one had taken offence, as again, none was intended <3
Quick question, it says on the Explorers section (yes I know Im a peasant) that we got to craft “exclusive weapons” any idea what they were or is that the Totem your all talking about? Started end of last year and never seen them.
