The problem of Botting/RWT

What safe guards is Boundless employing to stop the use of automatic software to run characters to do things?

What safe guards are in place to prevent a group coughkoreans/ chinesecough from running a RWT business (Real world trading) out of Boundless? In clash of kings the chinese had thousands of farm accounts collecting resources on every, single, server. They could buy hundreds of millions of resources cheap and advance faster then any honest player could. Runescape had a massive bot problem as well, Planetside 2 has aim bots (Target acquiring perfect aim even when in cover) , it’s a huge problem.

These people clog and destroy games

What about the infamous ‘X ray’ problem of Minecraft?

Good question which I can answer partly with some assumptions^^

It’s very difficult to make a bot who can navigate the terrain Boundless will provide to use it for efficient ressource farming.

Also the X-raying in MC was either due to a texturepack (which we most likely won’t have) or a bug in the game which can be fixed.
Minecraft has also shown that it’s not so difficult to detect which player is using X-raying to see and get to minerals and things like that.

It’s still not unheard of for someone to build a program that injects shaders/code into the game, and be able to do similar things.

We should expect it to happen; and that the devs won’t have the bandwidth to combat bots/hacks beyond simple mitigations.

Hell, I’m pretty sure that Blizzard’s anti-botting team (Warden) has more devs than all of Wonderstruck, and they’re still playing whack-a-mole w/ botters/hackers.

True that, but you can at least notice if someone gains so many ressources that it’s (really) out of the ordinary and warn him or let a mod talk to him.
But yes, there will always be ways to cheat in a game of such a scale.
