Fat Thursday is our Pancake Tuesday, although Sugar Thursday would be more fitting name, considering what’s eaten and what should people worry about as they give in to the traditional gluttony lol.

I don’t really notice Fat Thursday until someone tells me it’s coming, and I don’t shop for pączki or other sweet-fatty things, nor I bake any myself. Not anymore that is. I used to years ago, like every “normal” polish person
Still, I had some faworki from my sister-in-law yesterday (the second most common sugar-fat bomb on Fat Thursday).

they are basically doughnuts, although I have never had a doughnut as good as pączki from a polish cake shop

@BabyCookie That is a polish :cookie: on the left. Pardon my ignorance but Krushtiki is how I spell it but 100% wrong. Deepfried dough with powdered sugar. Great cookie for a cream cheese chocolate chip dip

That would be chruściki, from the word “chrust” meaning brushwood. It would be called that way by some indeed. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:
