I was discussing movement in the game with someone and they pointed out that the game doesn’t have a toggle sprint option!, I.E, pressing shift once to have sprint on all the time, and pressing again to remove sprint, or tapping sprint to run until you let go of the WASD keys which is what their preference was, is there any plans to look into movement options to accommodate these playstyles at all?

You double tap forward and hold let’s you sprint doesn’t it

Yes you can, it’s a toggled option in settings, one I don’t use myself. The question is related to the option some people prefer to have run as a toggle on and off rather than holding the shift to run all the time.
You can double tap any movement keys to enter run mode. It works like auto run in other games. I usually hold forward and then double tap left or right to get started
