I was figured 1 rough topaz for one rough oort stone would be a pretty good deal. The conversion if I remember without logging in is 18 stones makes 250 shards right?
So one stone is worth around 14 shards (rounding up). So one topaz for 14 shards? Does that make sense?

Were you hoping for a larger bulk amount, because I could probably do 5000 shards, for however many gems.
You’re at 12.5 per gem, I was at 14. How bout we go 13 shards per gem, so I’ll do the 5,000 shards for 385 gems.

Nah the amount of Topaz you can get so fast is ridiculous compared to Oort, 3 Topaz for one is more like it.

The value of things, especially.in a made up world, is defined by an individual’s needs. I’m well aware you can easily farm topaz just by cliff climbing with grapples. I got around 600 in an hour last time I went.
However, I don’t really use ort and it’s a by product of my meteor grinding. Yes I could easily have sold it, but what would it have got me? Half a decent slingbow?
The topaz I got will allow me to craft over 20 slingbows.
So yes, was a worthwhile and fair trade. But thanks for your input.
