I did not find a topic, that exactly dealt with what I am thinking of. so I created this one.
I don’t know if the engine boundless uses makes it possible, but there is this idea I have about trees.
It’s always weird to see leaves flying somewhere in there air with no trunk existing because someone took the trunk away… Also it’s quite disappointing if you get closer to woods that you want to farm, and see half of the trees don’t have trunks…
Is it possible, that if you chop a tree it falls on the ground, stay there for a while so you can farm wood and leaves and then make it disappear after some minutes? I know usually voxels are able to stay in a place in the air without connection to anything else. But especially with treeleaves it looks weird and is annoying if you think it’s a wood with lot of trunks from the distance, but it’s just leaves when you get closer. Would be also good, if a tree cannot fall, if the tree disappears somewhen, if just one piece of trunk in the middle is not connecting the top of the tree to the bottom. Or in case 2 instead of making the tree disappear, the trunk should regenerate.
Also it would be nice, that a tree could regenerate (growing in some steps from day to day). either when a player puts a seed in a place or, when you choped down a tree and don’t mine away the ground under it.
Though I know the regenerative progress has consider some rules, that trees can just grow with a certain distance to each other, so it cannot look too weird for example.
Would be happy to hear you opinion. I think it would give our environment a lot more dynamic.
