Website Update

Hello,

Long time reader and follower, first time poster. I’ve read a ton on the game over the years and have watched many Youtube videos. I’ve been around a bunch and have kept my eyes on Oort/Boundless for a very long time (lurker mode deactivated).

With that said, if you look at the main website, the last news post was last year (6months ago). I’ve read about the various delays… I’ve read almost all of the dev posts over the past year. But… there’s no way I am the normal, typical website follower/reader. Most will come to the website and click on “News” and see there is no new news. They won’t go to the lengths of digging through the forums looking for more info.

So I guess my question is… why is the website so outdated with information? I understand that you’re busy and you’re a small-ish team, but to the outside observer, it looks like the game has ceased development (which I know is far from the case). You guys should really post some more news posts under “News” on the main page… even if the posts are just redirects to your forum posts. This will give the casual on-looker a better idea of what’s going on with the game.

Or better yet… get rid of the “News” section entirely! You already have the devlog section and a link to the forums.

That’s all I got for you… I’m excited for you guys and I can’t wait until the game comes out! Best of luck in the future!

Hey @Wablamo - absolutely agree. It’s been on our todo list for months for all the reasons you’ve given. Either 1. point the news section at the news category in the forum, or 2. populate the news section with the contents of the news category from the forum. It just never happened because it’s difficult to spend time on something other than the game. Grr, bad us. (It was also a lower priority whilst we were fixing really fundamental things with the game.)

It’s now at the top of the todo list! Well close-ish to the top ;-).

Appreciate you taking the time to raise this!

The funny thing is that the they post more on Reddit than on the official Website xD

maybe update only the biggest things like the upcoming 1.0 release and keep all the “smaller” and detailed post in forums etc… and a link to redirect to here for more info so you can focus more on the game?

Thank you for responding James!

In all honesty, I would check the news section periodically from when you guys made your PS4/name change announcement, all the way up through March 2016, before I finally dug into the forums and saw that you guys were extremely busy. I’ve been gaming a very long time, so I do know about forums and “dev posts”.

With the lack of the news posts, I put myself in my own shoes years ago (being much more naive at the time). I can imagine many people just seeing no new news and being disappointed and/or discouraged.

I’m glad to hear you guys will be addressing the issue! I look forward to it and to the game of course.

If it was years ago, I’d be one of the diehards testing the game for you. Life, a couple other hobbies and a very needy girlfriend have me in a perpetual “lurk mode” state.

Thank you again and best of luck with testing/release! I can’t wait!

Hello James!

I came back to check the latest rumblings today and noticed you updated the link to the News on the main page. I just wanted to thank you!

See you in game when you get it completed for Ps4!

Thanks for the comment. It’s appreciated. :cake:

Please tell me a simple way to request an update for https://errorcode0x.com/resolve-steam-error-code-80/ to the developers of the site.

Firstly, new record for raising post from the dead?

Second, not clicking that link to someone has checked it…

Thirdly maybe create a new separate support post to raise your issue, with a bit more detail.

This is just a friendly suggestion!

Also this thread was from July 2016 lol
