What did you do in Boundless today?

I harvested and worked on my ‘kitchen’. Trying to make it better, always better  I’m not there yet. It needs some ‘pop’ but I suck at ‘pop’.It frustrates me that props sit in the ‘center’ of the voxel block .Sometimes I’d like to take a pole or a beam and slap it right down on top of a block. Well, from the side anyway, they do touch top to bottom.

Spent a few hours stocking up on dark turquoise rocks on Sochaltin I and putting them into crafting tables. I’m burning through my stored building blocks way too fast… couldn’t continue building ‘cause I ran out of those.
Let’s hope those will get me through the remaining parts of the current floors’ walls.

Oh and I added a wall in front of the left and right shelve floors but they’re not finished yet:

The water will make more sense when the roofing gets done. Added it early to test the look and make sure it the waterflow doesn’t split somewhere or passes chiseled blocks (because just like light it can pass through blocks that are chiseled on both sides even if there’s no visible gap).

Waiting for a good opportunity to take a nap :joy:
Haven’t been doing much today in game so far. I was making quite some progress on my hub yesterday. Roofs are really challenging for me. So I stepped today back from the building and have been gathering few things on @Balkinus’s farms. Will soon continue more on that and sell it later. Depending on the income, I will either completely use it for the Sunset Forge Market budget or split a part and use the rest for the Mayflower Farm Hub portals.

Not today, but day before yesterday I got a new pet… took them for a walk at my storage.

Today I was off work so I did some mining on two exo’s and forged some hammers and made lots more brick… among other things.

…in an hour I’ll be leading a T6 hunt… oh yeah… lots of fun things to do.

Today I noticed the Sedimentary colour of Deep Turquoise so tomorrow it will be concrete at Bastion Concrete .I just am making the sand, it’s a very nice rich colour.

Got my little place up to just over 10M prestige on my way to trying to hit 32M. “Only” 22M more to go, lol! Guess I’ll have to build everything else out of lucent blocks.

Cleared an area to build in, but haven’t a clue what to put there.

Re-built that bit of road, now I need to lower the street lamps by 1 tile.

:joy::rofl: you’re not alone i to the same

Back to topic… clock, roof, figuring things out, building (not to my liking ), reclaimed the beacon of the next character lost a few 100k prestige :joy::rofl: (which is a lot when your almost a town). Some more plotting and finally bought some qubits as the plot gain is starting to frustrate me :joy::rofl: with all those “air” plots.

Interesting, I wonder how many people have purchased cubits. I grind them a good bit, but have never purchased any. I throw on a teaching pie for almost everything I do and wind up getting anywhere from 2-5 levels a day or more depending on what I am doing.

im not buying cubits, i think i can get enough just playing  especially if you like mining and gathering

well never trying to build something monumental
i have 1777 plots and 19000 cubits so far

That’s the thing i want to rebuild and have the mats but not the time  or the plots currently  so buying some cubits on all characters foor a bit of a plot boost to get tem started isn’t an issue in my eyes.

[edit] im not joking when i say air plots as they contain mostly air when the build is finished  but need to plot those first to see what room i have to work with.

Lol., story time.

The first time I had tried to make my own tools (finally had enough materials for some copper stuff) I realized that I would have to use cleanse points to do it. Free early skill resets weren’t a thing, then, so I knew immediately that I would need alts to do more than the most basic stuff.

I used some of my early cubits to open a character slot and started a crafter. It seemed a bit painful on the early cubits so used his first cubits to buy another, sort of like ripping off a band-aid

That made sense and the tutorials and a bit of activity got me another, so I opened another slot and deleted that guy. One by one I dominoed my slots open after that, creating a character, running the tutorials, and buying another slot. In this way my existing characters only ever actually spent cubits on 2 slots, I always had them available when I needed them, and I had a team of 4 “specialist” alts in my first week of gameplay.

Then, I decided to do a sprawling build on Gloviathosa. That’s when I bought a bunch of cubits, and put them on my “harvester” alt. I did that so I could build stuff around a gleam field and my main or my miner could still farm the gleam.

A couple of weeks later they introduced some changes to the plotting and settlement system that really ruined that build’s entire concept.- it became over 90% “road” plots and was bridging in several places, although nobody really knew what was going on at that point.

That issue is what caused me to join the forums and start learning about the more technical side of the game. And after joining the forum is when I was introduced to the concepts of actually farming levels and whatnot, as the table nerf came very shortly after

Anyways those cubits were enough to keep me busy for a while, I’ve never been a really prolific builder. So expanding my very first base was a bit of a struggle but it seemed appropriate so I just went with it until I knew I wanted to make something that, it seemed to me, was honestly a bit large for what I had done in game so far.

At that point I had no problem buying the cubits to do it.

On a side note for the first year I played, my crafter and miner quickly surpassed my main in levels. For the first year and a half or so, Nightstar (my “main”) was usually my third highest leveled character. With the announcement of the ‘upcoming’ skill changes, and the prospect of finally being able to get everything onto one fully competent avatar, I started leveling him almost exclusively.

After all along with many others I wanted to hit that max level requirement before the update dropped :smirk:

Since then I backed off of boundless for a long time. Removed all my builds and basically quit for a while. This left me with an excess of plots, actually. I’ve finally started “collecting” cosmetics for my main, and I don’t convert to plots immediately as there may be more use for cubirts in the future.

When I play now it’s normally with a heavy focus on harvesting blocks and materials, and crafting. So like many here, unless there is some drastic change or I get incredibly ambitious, I have plenty of cubits for a long, long time. The 10% plot bonus doesn’t hurt, either.

In a case like @Tmmk’s (forced to switch accounts and lose my characters) I’m not sure - but if I was frustrated with not having enough plots for what I wanted, I would probably buy them again.

Yea it wasn’t a knock on @Tmmk at all for buying the plots or anyone else for that matter it was more a question on me wondering how many people actually buy cubits. I have never had the will to buy them and I usually just grind them and if I really push it I can gain a large amount fairly quickly with my current setup.

The cash to cubits also seems quite pricey as compared to grinding it out, but I suppose that is only a matter of opinion (or financial status). I’m not looking at the game right now but IIRC it wasn’t too tempting for me when I was seriously considering buying plots to support DK Mall granted I don’t get that pretty 10% bonus.

It’s about as close to P2W as Boundless gets though which I am ok with especially in the case of TMMK.
