Hello again!

For those of you with really big ideas that aren’t really feasible in the live universe, what are some of the ideas you have for building on private planets when they release? I’m looking towards building a world tree with a base village. Something along the lines of the following picture:

What are some of your ideas along with possibly some images you are using for inspiration?

Beautiful!

Honestly, I might end up doing something similar.

Or a cliff town.

Honestly, I really just go around looking at the landscape and working with it, rather than against it.

So it’s more a matter of what I have to work with and how it inspires me.

Might force a few waterfalls when we get that and see what effect it creates…

I love planets, My current build is up above a giant field of flowers near the Exodus (I may have it ripped up partly due to moving a bunch of stuff to cut down on portals, but it will be back!). The planets are amazingly made, which is why I usually build floating structures lol.

Ah, yes, that’s an idea.
I’m an old school Sonic the Hedgehog fan, so in minecraft, I made a huge floating island. It was all jungle-y and large enough to have mountains, rivers, waterfalls, hidden areas, including a chaos emerald room that could only be accessed from a well hidden hole under the island.
I did this twice. Unfortunately both on paid servers so I eventually lost them both. ;_;

I would defnitely build a huge medieval castle surrounded my a medieval town. Would be amazing if we could choose the style of the world, would love to make a medieval river town.

I honestly haven’t done much that is still around on the live servers. I had a 600-700 plot floating island I was working building on kada 1, but nuked it this morning to get the plots back for my project at the exodus before I got too far on it to stop.

I do still have a small proof of concept for a guild build that may take shape in the next few weeks above kada 1. I love that planet, though the fog machine is a little unreal lol.

Seems like I’ll be able to build anything I want on any of the public planets already available!

Since everyone will be buggering off to their own little private dictatorships, I’ll have the place to myself

Its not that it can’t be built on the real realms pending enough time and effort, but some of us dream bigger than a few thousand plots while only having a few hours a week to play. After playing for a couple of years I have realized that people also come and go, so building long term projects with others usually ends up with large gaps in your build after 6 months to a year. If you don’t have the plots, there isn’t any saving them.

Needs a lot of plots tho and well, ya know…

If private planets release around start of summer I will have some extra cash so if devs are smart they allow me to spend it on some cubits, hahaha, wink, wink, hint, hint!

But then again, if it’s a private planet where I decide who can build I don’t have to plop down 1000’s of plots right away to be on the safe side, I can start with a small amount.

But I want to make a huge town, tho I do have a tendency to get side tracked often, just the idea of it and working slowly, very slowly on it sounds rather lovely! Especially without having to worry someone i gonna plot right next to you!

Does renting a planet mean you have infinite plots on that planet, or not? I expected you’d need plots as normal but some posts here seem to suggest otherwise? (I know there’s not much real information out)

Anyhow, if I were to rent one (probably won’t) I’d probably fuel it with pure nostalgia and do cities/dungeons/etc from Final Fantasy 6. Figaro Castle, the Phantom Train, Magitek Factory, etc. Throw in pixel art of the characters and monsters. Or a Chrono Trigger planet, have different areas be different eras. (I loved SNES RPGs)

Holy moly, a FF6 planet. I played this in the UK on an imported Super Famicom and cartridge. I was 12/13 at the time.
It was many weeks pocket money and convincing my mum to get it for me…especially since it was no internet days and it was paid for over the phone from some magazine company :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s my favourite Final Fantasy game of all time, and yes, I played FF7 :stuck_out_tongue:

It hadn’t even occurred to me to have a planet solo dedicated to a massive project like that!

Its hard to say since most of the information is well over a year old now. Though this post is more geared towards “If you could build anything without a plots restriction what would it be?” type of thing. I would personally love to traverse a ff6 themed planet!

This would be epic. Kefka is still one of my favorite villains to date in any game ever.
Edit: if you do end up starting a project like this hit me up. Would love to contribute to that theme for sure.

Maybe something like this…

It’s kind of a shame it “has to be” on private servers. Wouldn’t it be amazing to see these kinds of builds on the public servers with a better handout of plots, less griefing?

That being said, I have big plans to make a large city eventually.

I would build much more if I knew griefers weren’t out there. However, I really appreciate what the devs do to stop griefing and have been helped recently by James. It’s just private servers, still connected to the rest of the universe, would make it griefproof.

I really appreciate what they do too, don’t get me wrong. I guess I can see where people are frustrated as well. I really want to see big projects be able to come to life on the public servers just as much as the private servers but it seems evident that the current system doesn’t allow this to really happen.

Ah! But am sure we can CHANGE the rules of a private server once it’s been running for a while!
What I mean by that is we can rent a planet, connect it to the universe but you decide who can plots, then you can build freely without worry, then when your big project is done or nearly done change the plotting rule and it becomes a completely public server!

That could work too!

I feel myself getting close to building burnout so private planets will be arriving a little late for myself, though I was initially excited by the idea when they were first announced.
Might get inspired though further down the line if people can build some of the ideas popping up here

Well majority of my builds have been small scale I would say. But if I can have my own planet that’ll change. But I would classify myself as more of a solo player(even tho I’m active in a few guilds and live in a guild town) so I want to build alone away from everyone and not have anyone plot near me at all. And currently I can’t do that in public worlds. Every time I’ve tried someone has either built a structure near me or built road. So every time I tear it down and relocate or just toss the stuff in storage.
