What do YOU think Boundless needs to regain more players?

I’m sorry for ruffling your feathers

You didn’t

So I think planet spawns should be based on plots obtained in game. A lot of older players have a ton of plots not saying that’s bad however I think as more players have more plots this is going to create a tremendous issue.

Private servers do not exist on major mmo’s and actually any one running a private server risk getting into legal problems. I have had discussions on this private server issue and I feel it takes away from the economy when you start splitting the community.

Biggest issue is lag for me it is getting to the point of being unplayable. Dungeons, more types of environments with more varieties of plants trees and rocks, blocks that stack and create a different block kind of like the ornate glass, story, lore, unique obtainable blocks throughout worlds such as statues that you can place in your builds that would be progressively better as you go to higher tier planets. Just some thoughts.

My apologies for my rude comments about Chinese gamers. I hope you and your friends enjoy boundless, @1351218824!
What planet do you guys live on?

I’m partly of Asian decent and was not offended by your statements. You can’t say anything anymore without someone trying to shame you or imply you’re a racist.

And besides, Chinese gamers are hella competitive. Just look at esports

There is no reason to exclude anyone based on race or country. Period.

Several things;

A) You do not speak for all Asians. We can speak for ourselves
B) Do not assume illwill of others (Krollbar) when there was no obvious illwill implied. Because this is how flame wars start.
C) If you wish to say you were offended, then that is fine. But don’t speak for all others.
D) Do not try to race shame others on a gaming forum.
E) Please keep to original topic.

Thanks

A. Never said I did.
B. I take things as they are stated.
C. I am not offended. It is wrong to say we should exclude people based on their race or country of origin.
D. I did not shame anyone. Making remarks about someone based on their race is racist.
E. Exactly. This entire conversation is off topic and not appropriate.

This is not appropriate nor is it constructive to the topic.

Ding ding ding

We have a winner.
Completely of topic and just doesn’t belong. It has nothing to do with being a racist or being offended. It just doesn’t belong in this topic.

Did you see what happened to the Atlas and Rust servers and how people begged for NA and Europe only servers?

It’s a valid point to bring up but given the lack of pvp it likely wouldn’t happen.

How will blocking a certain market help “Boundless … to regain more players”?

Totally off topic. Perhaps a new thread is needed.

His point was, if the game experience became more toxic, it wouldn’t help boundless regain more players.

So instead of saying what COULD gain more players, he said what might NOT gain more players.

As seen from the comments above, some players in markets that are being mentioned as “toxic”, are already playing Boundless and love the game.

Some people have had extremely bad experiences when games are localized to different countries, it’s a perfectly valid concern for some. Given the plot war bickering that Boundless has experienced, surely you can imagine the difficulty of Wonderstruck and their small team responding to support requests in Traditional, Simplified Chinese, Korean, as well as English, French, Spanish, German, and Italian, and mediate fights between two players who cannot speak the same language.

I’m not debating the likelihood, but their concern is on topic. In their opinion, a way to ensure Boundless doesn’t lose more players is to NOT localize the game any further than NA/Europe. Perhaps they’re wrong, and doing the opposite would revitalize the game, I don’t know, and I’m not arguing for or against it.

Their concern has left its mark, and other people are welcome to chip in their own concerns and ideas. There’s no need to censor what they’ve said as it’s clear they had no ill intentions. We can all just move on from this topic and let other people provide their ideas now.

So in a futile attempt to pull the off topic back on topic…

I’m well aware we don’t really need more planets at the moment… but I’d give my left kranut for a new permanent planet or two. Real talk.

Who else remembers the excitement that even just those two new planets generated? :sparkles:

I long for a permanent offline mode of sorts (someday) or at the very least, private planets. If Boundless had an offline version similar to Terraria, I’d never leave the house.

And I did. Saying certain people aren’t welcome greatly concerns me because it probably doesn’t help with player retention or acquisition.

We already have different non-English speaking communities in Boundless.

Agreed - I would absolutely love to see a few new ones, especially if they had features like the exos of recent months. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: If they looked like some of those, with the gorgeous forests and cool structures, I’d be plotting and have a new home in the works for sure!

Plus, with so many wanting to build on the placid T1s it seems, having a few more of those seems like it would only help. Even if we don’t have an influx coming any time soon, help spread things out a bit, and get the new ones developed before there were a bunch of new people in. I really can’t think of a downside to a couple new ones. Another lush T4 would be a benefit as well I think.
