What ever happened to the old road map

How about then suggesting those things that peel to her ?
If she dont know what those peeling things are for her how the dongler should i know?

Its easy to wack the game knto the ground… i know ive done it couple times, but we all in the same boat… at least saying whats missing could help.

We are no mindreaders… if you cannot write it… then draw it… if not even that… then try even shape it a little bit to some direction so we know wich way to go.

Yeah personally not very happy with what’s being worked on. Waiting for some meaty updates is a drag rn tbh and no roadmap is a very bad sign and tells me there may be no plans for any extensive future support. I’m wholeheartedly waiting to be proven wrong.

This is probably my biggest gripe with the game. Just to build a starter house you are looking at hours of gameplay. Hours of incredibly slow, grindy, unguided gameplay. I really wish they started you with 15-25 plots and a smart stack of assorted block colors. Maybe ask during character creation to pick a build color palette or match it to your character’s color. Make it a plainish colored block (similar to Minecraft wool or concrete) that can be broken on any planet in 3 or 4 hits like the machines. Don’t give it any prestige value and add a tip “To increase your build’s prestige try using other blocks!”

Also the inability to play offline creative puts a huge damper on the experience. That’s a great place to plan and trouble shoot builds without wasting resources on the live version that take tens of hours to collect or craft. You can come up with awesome builds to show off online / help market the game. Hell, even survival Minecraft you can make epic builds with less time investment.

I really think this game would explode in popularity if they gave planet renters more control over game rules (number of plots, fuel duration, etc.) Hopefully when they add private servers, not linked to the main game, the possibilities will open up on what this game could be.

I run a shop called SugarSpice Bakery and would love to sell an assortment of buff cookies :cookie:

I read in an old post a year ago by James that the whole game programming language had to be converted into C++ for the PS4 release. So, maybe that took some time and a period of silence and now we are set for some meaty content updates for the future. I see new players in chat everyday so thats a good sign.

Because that IS 1 of the things on the old road map and many people seem to want one. Heck, quite a few people returned to the forums because of it!

It’s a way to attract more players and to get more income for development.

As for the game loop not having changed in years I feel is incorrect due to the big farming update last year.

Am kinda hoping on a huge update like it later in the year.

I believe that all those things are still coming but many QoL changes had to be done as well. Plus a lot of time was spend on trying to force people to be more considerate of each other with buffer zones and compactness. Add some pandemic to this year and it all progresses slower than we would like

And I find that to be boring as :duck:

Why do you want to play offline?
You can use the prototype creative mode by running the planet servers locally but you still need to log in into your normal account so it can’t be offline but works perfectly to test things out!

So I can play on night shift at work. Nowhere has WiFi, most places don’t have cell service.

I travel around the US installing large power transformers. Part of the process requires pulling vacuum on the transformer for up to 72 hours, so 3 night shifts, where all I have to do is type a set of numbers into a computer every hour. Occasionally we will build 3 transforms at a time, so 9 nights of nothing to do in a row during a ~45 day job.

Ahh yeah, that makes sense! Perhaps they can add a local log in server as well in the near future.

I’m hoping if they add fully private servers I can host one locally from my gaming laptop.

I was there back in 2014 or 2015 i dont remember. i saw the original road maps and features we paid for. When they said player hosted worlds it came across ass offline and 3rd party hosted, not a rental service and part of the main system.

I don’t hate the game, if i did i’d stop coming back. I keep checking back to see if things have progressed. I would love to play but the game is a huge grind, requires me to constantly come back to protect my work, I can’t play it offline, and i dont even have any clothes lol.

There were just so many features promised that I just don’t see ever happening and it worries me and honestly I backed them because they gave me hope based on their prior projects, that this wouldn’t end up like all the other indie games.

You can get a decent size build into the sanctum - sanctum editor is offline right? @AeneaGames

I am wondering what fuel are you putting in your beacon, the 1 month, 2month or 3 months beacon fuel.

The top one is 16 weeks so 4 months.

I really feel like we need to print out a scorecard for just how many times people have said this.

Why do people always hate on the grind? It’s an MMO it’s supposed to be a grind. Otherwise people would start playing and hit end game in a week and get bored. You’re SUPPOSED to play the game for years on end grinding your life away. I’ve never played an MMO that doesn’t require grinding, why should boundless be different? What would you DO if the game wasn’t a grind? Thats kind of the whole point of the game I feel like.

People aren’t asking for no grind. They want a different amount of grind.

The degree of grind is always something worth debating.

But if you didn’t have to grind as much what would you do? That’s a Serious question, because the way I’ve seen it is, people have played this game since release. People have built amazing structures. Mind-blowing buildings and cities. Dodge bomb arenas for community events. Portal networks.

All of this came from grinding.
All of it is doable in its current state. People can build amazing things already despite the “grind” that people complain about. If the grind was reduced would the game become too easy? Would everyone just end up having every building block they ever needed and just be able to freely build? That’s how I feel like it would work. People just would be mining and hunting and exploring and gathering far less. People would be able to crank out whatever building blocks they want and build away. And when that happens I feel people would get bored and burnt out too quickly from having not ENOUGH to do. It would greatly benefit builders in the end having to grind less for their materials, but it would hurt gatherers, miners, and even crafters.

So again my question is, what would you do if you didn’t have to grind as much? Because I genuinely don’t know what I’d do with the extra free time.

And yes this is a jab at the lack of content in the game. If there was more to do outside of grinding I could see reducing the grind. If we had Titans or cool redstone like mechanisms to build with? That would be great. Things to do outside of grinding. But I just don’t know what I’d do without the grind
